I've already tried prying the trim plate around the hu off with far more force than I would of liked. That sucker is on tight if it's just pull clips! The trim above the glove box pulls right off with hardly any effort, is it the same kind of pull clips on the hu trim plate? If it is, something is screwed up on mine.

So you're running a separate amp off the stock HU? Did you just convert the high level sub wires to line level inputs and then run them to the new amp?

to take apart the dash:
1. remove all trim pieces(radiobezel and color matched parts)
2. remove A-pillar covers
3. remove front most part of dash under the windshield where the light sensor is(unhook, cable only stretches to about 8")
4. unbolt all the 9/32 bolts holding it down(should be 6 at the cowl and about 5 or 6 under the trim.
5. remove the air bag cover(held with metal hooks)
6. lift up and remove towards the passenger side
