Hii, i just install a use pcm from a 2008 and my car is a 2009 and now it wont crank and i have a traction contol light and abs light in the dash. I know i will need a reflash but is the the only reason to the problem? Thanks

 

Should be. Needs the vin to match.

 

It is like no pcm was connected to my car. I broke the one that was in my car before and when i connect the other one there is nothing more.
If the vin match is the only thing needed its great.

 

as i have understood it, before the engine cranks, the BCM & ECM communicate with each other;
If there is a vin issue, you will get nothing.

You need a TechII or similar tool to change the vin in the ECM;
alternately, HP Tuners VCM has the ability to change the vin.

I have heard of ECM's getting locked if the car has an attempted start without the vin correct - hopefully that isn't your case.

 

Thanks for your answers i found the problem friday. My PCM was finally not bad, all of my ground for it was cut on the trans so thats why i was not able to connect my autel maxysis to it. Now it work find.
