CF trunk....Coming on the 5th : )

Well anywho I placed my order for my CF trunk on the 24th of October. Atleast thats when I sent in the final money for the price diffrence of shipping. They then said it should arrive 12-15 business days later. Now I called them today (November 14th.) and they said they are having boarder problems so they will not arrive to there place for another 2 weeks now. In the mean time they still have to get my trunk and send it out to me which Im guesssing will be another 2 weeks for shipping since its truck freight. And now after reading it they say theres a 10% cancellation fee that applys so If i cancell it now I'll be losing 60 bucks out of it since it was 600 total w/ shipping.

I just wanted to say this cuz im just venting and not sure what to do now. Im also broke right now and have no income since i have to wait to be called in for work which is taking way to long.

Not to mention If i do wait for my trunk to get here that wont be till december so in the mean time when it snows my old trunk will most likly rust and have the paint peel get even worse on it.

What would you do?

Ryan

Did you agree to/sign a sales agreement?

If you did, review it and contact the vendor you purchased it from.

Do some reading on Article 2 of the Uniform Commercial Code(Sale of goods).

You should be able to make a reasonable arrangement if you wish to cancel the order.

If it were me: I would put priorties in order and probably cancel if money was a concern.

I orderd through online w/ a credit card and paypal. since i had to max out my card at 500. but the website says

All orders are considered final upon placement. To cancel an order, YOU MUST SPEAK DIRECTLY TO A GRAVANA SALES REPRESENTATIVE via telephone TO HAVE YOUR ORDER CANCELLATION CONFIRMED, AND TO RECEIVE YOUR CANCELLED ORDER CODE. E-MAILED, FAXED OR VOICE-MAIL MESSAGED CANCELLATIONS ARE NOT ACCEPTED. Shipped orders, full or partial, are not cancelable under any circumstances. Requesting a cancellation DOES NOT cancel an order unless confirmed by Gravana. Cancellations are not guaranteed by Gravana and may take up to 72 hours to confirm, depending on the product ordered. Orders shipping the same day a cancellation is requested are considered shipped. All cancellations are subject to a 10% processing fee. Some specialty items and/or special orders are not returnable, refundable or cancelable under any circumstances. (See product description for details.) Cancellation requests on items that have shipped previous to the request are considered completed orders, and will be rejected. Circumstances beyond the control of Gravana (natural disaster, weather, earthquakes, carrier loss, changing your mind, change of address, customers moving, delivery truck crashing, late delivery of a gift-order, act of God, etc.) do not qualify for order cancellation or return.

Looks like they covered most of the bases there.

Take a look at this: http://www.law.cornell.edu/ucc/2/overview.html
You'll find some interesting information.

Nota Bene:

§ 2-609. Right to Adequate Assurance of Performance.
(1) A contract for sale imposes an obligation on each party that the other's expectation of receiving due performance will not be impaired. When reasonable grounds for insecurity arise with respect to the performance of either party the other may in writing demand adequate assurance of due performance and until he receives such assurance may if commercially reasonable suspend any performance for which he has not already received the agreed return.

It may be best to wait out the delivery, but it all depends on your current priority

If you need money, losing 60 bucks is better than 600. What about insurance maybe I missed something for the repairs

500 dollar deductable. I already got it quoted and it would cost 400-450 for it to be fixed.

i see you got your trunk. does the car move any better with the less weight???? im guessing if so, its not by much. i always wonderd how much an impact it would have to do carbon fiber body parts all the way around the car....

cause they get bitched at for asking and people tell them to search.

a carbon fiber trunk won't add any real performance. If you were to put on all carbon fiber body panels, then there may be a difference.

ona side note, putting ona carbon fiber trunk and hood might actually hurt handling. Your dropping weight, but in the wrong place sort of. If you take out weight, you want it to be a high as possible so the center of gravity goes down. If you start to put on carbon fiber hood, trunk and gut the intertior, the car could become top heavy. Hence why evos(mr and rs i believe) have alumnium roof so it drops the weight in the right place.
