search button... the difference is for the 05-06 model they come with the LSD which eliminates one tire fire (both tires spin), and had the recaro seats, for the 07 they no longer have the seats but still have the quaiffe LSD, i would only recommend the g85 package if you are planning on racing or just like the seats, i have the package and i love the seats

SSvader, what he was getting at is even without LSD you can spin both tires, LSD is beneficial when taking turns. with an open differencial on a hard turn giving it gas, the inside wheel would light up, limiting not only acceleration but turning traction. the LSD limits that wheel spin by having the inside and outside wheels given power, improving lap times.

Should be a sticker in the back that lists a bunch of RPO (3 letter/number) codes. One of them will be "G85". ALL SS's have the same ring around the boost gauge. If your seats are all black, then you do not have G85. The G85 seats are black leather with gray mesh inserts and they actually say Recaro on them.

I know that, but he was asking about an 06 and I didn't want to confuse him.

If you were about to take off at a light and one tire was in water and the other was on dry pavement with a limited slip it would provide power to the tire on the dry pavement as opposed to the wet like the open diff would. This is a time when it could help in a straight line.

^ Or in the winter, when you have to drive up an extreamly steep hill, where the snow plow only got one little strip of ice cleared, that way you can use one tire to get up... I had to do that last winter...

Not always, I've gotten two wheels to spin with open diff. It's just that the conditions have to be absolutely perfect to do it.
