What schould i do?
What schould i do?
So I went to work today ( I work at a dealership), And I saw that we just got a new 07 cobalt ss/sc G85 fully loaded w/ low pro wing... oh and it only has about 4k miles on it...
since i work there they will make me a deal but they are willing to offer me 7500-8k on my car.. its an 06 base model with 19 k on it..
Disclaimer... i have checked with the insurance company and it would only go up 36 dollars a month...
the ss/sc is listed for 18k but i was told i may get it for around 15-17....
1. Should i do it?
2. What kind of Down payment should I put down?
3. Anything else?
Thanks in advance...

if you don't owe alot, then it's worth it. it's not worth going into serious debt and racking up a big ass car payment. if you drvie a cobalt, but your car payment matches that of a z06, then that's not cool
well, that's a HUGE factor. you need to find that out before you can do anything as far as figuring out price. suppose you owe 13,000 on the car, (just making up #'s) and you get 7, so now you're getting that used cobalt for over 22 grand, when you can get one for about 15 grand.

I bought a 2007 SS 2.4L and It was 19,000, and I put 4000 down and the monthly is just a hiar over $200, thats for a 72month plan though, which sucks ,but its all I can afford working part-time and school full-time.

if you did finance the 15k(lets say your parents have good credit) at 6% for 60 months this would be your payment.......$265
72 months..........................$220
of course this is not figuring in tax, title and license, but you get the idea. not to bad if you ask me, just make sure you can pay it and still have money for other stuff. just make sure they give you enough to at least pay off your car, so you aren't upside down with negative equity. you should talk to your used car manager though, because every dealer that i've worked at the employees can buy the used cars for $500 above what they paid for it. how do the discounts work at your dealer?
you not understanding it right, if they give him 7 or 8k it will pay off his car as of now, then he has to finance the ss/sc for however much he can get it for, so he would be financing maybe 15k.
