Wheel hop?

Does the SS suffer from wheel hop? I know the Red Lines do and am curious if GM did something to correct this in the SS's.

Have you driven one? The motor mounts in the SS look exactly the same as the 04 and 05 Red Line and they both have wheel hop.

yes and no

if you are taking off on smooth roads then power take offs are smooth BUT if you try the same thing on uneven pavement (intersections for eg.) then the SS hops a lot. And yes I drive an SS

also take into consideration low profile 18's that might have a lil more air in them than they need, with the uneven road that can potentailly happen to alota cars.

I 100% agree with Victory_Red_SS.

If the pavement is uneven or bump your getting some fierce wheel hop.
In fact at one point I was doing a bit of a spirited launch from a light and I took off spinning and got into the intersection a bit further and hit some rough pavement and it was wheelhop city.

From smooth pavement there is no wheelhop that I have experienced

Can we define what 'wheel hop' exactly is and what causes it? I'm under the impression the car jerks the font end up when it grabs traction and loses it, falls back down and grabs, etc.. Is that correct?

Ive experienced "some" wheel hop from merging onto a road from a stop...I have not taken the car to the strip yet BUT I do know even with the LSD the tires light up fairly easy but yea I have only experienced some....
