Wheel hop.......

Hello; I just purchased a 2007 SS and i have now logged my thousand km break in. I have goen full throttle in first gear a few times and i am getting quite a bit of wheel hop. I was nto launching the car, this was a roll into the throttle. Is this normal? I was only expecting wheel hop under hard launches

In first gear you will get wheel hop if you gun it. Congratz on the car.

It's normal. Try getting the Ingalls Torque Dampener, it'll help

Be careful of wheel hop it can snap your axles,

Like i have said before our axles suck

They taper down before the cv joint andwill break if you get to much wheel hop

Control Arm Brushing Ingals, and tranny mounts will eliminate wheel hop

Not only can it snap your axles but that can cause your transmission case to crack. GM WILL NOT WARRANTY ANY OF THIS because it is "abusing the product"

i don't consider giving a car full gas abusing the product. That is garbage, I am going to bring up the wheel hop issue. I want my new torque dampners paid for.

Ingalls, Bushings, and mounts should help that out a bit.

not only can it crack the case on the tranny it can also compromise the integrity of the seals onthe tranny too which will allow the oil to get to your clutch and cause it to slip even more than normal

so easy to fight...they cant argue with you if you say it happened in the rain and you were on an incline with some dipshit right on your back bumber. if they dont warranty it...BBB or sue

Not true, if theres any cracks or oil in the tranny its abuse, easy as that. Its extremely easy to tell. Plus its very easy to see a history of what the car has had done to it and how its been treated.

I went with traction aid and no traction aid. the cause? it is the control arm bushings on the Front lower control arm. largely due to the rear bushing. I am still sourcing a replacement. JBP has bushings for the front. fixing this plus better tires will achieve elimination of wheel hop and ability to leave the line much faster to get 60's times down. Just adding a traction aid as they are call eliminates wheel hop only. It will not improve traction. I know lots will disagree but I got my best 60ft without any traction aid on stock tires with a 2.18. this was achieved without dumping clutch and no reving motor. I left the line like grandma and rolled into the accelerator to keep wheel hop at bay. WHeel hop is a product of the tire losing traction. your on the edge. if you improve traction of the tire the harder you can go to improve the 60's. wheel hop is a red flag saying back off accelerating a bit as you are losing traction. IMO from my experience.

but if you did aftermarket to fix the problem it would still void the warranty right?

?? void what? I am not sure what your referring to. It sounds like you are saying putting on a aftermarket part would void warranty on your car for just about anything. is that what you mean? please clarify.

If your stock man, just get the ingalls and it will work fine. If you plan on putting on stage 2 or other mods then you have to get something like tranny mounts also. As for gm getting you the torque brace, let me know how that goes.
