Wheel hop cure

So I have a 2.2 cobalt and was wondering how to solve the crazy wheel hop problem. It only does it if I go hard on it in the rain or I would suspect when trying to do a burnout(never tried).

2.2 doesn't have LSD so that's too much for one wheel to handle I'm guessing.

I dont think the rotated mounts work on the f23 but i think turbo tech racing makes a solid engine mount for the 2.2

We make the upper engine mount and transmission bushings for your cobalt.

powell makes rotated mounts for the f23, also they make some good bushings you can use^^

also what nathan said, get better control arm bushings,

after those two things, there will be very minimal wheel hop

Thanks for that, I live relatively close to powell racing and have the alloy control arms that I was going to bring to him to replace the bushings and get a run down on what I should do with my car. Might pick up a harness bar as well if there's any in. As for the mounts I'm not sure whether or not I want to find an f35 and swap it or not. I will probably do that in the long run as this is a project track car.

Theres absolutely no point in swapping to an f35. They are expensive and hard to find. If you really want an lsd, have powell put one in an f23.

I agree with what was said above. After supercharging my car wheel hop was a major problem when trying to launch. Powell's F23 rotated trans mount combined with TC Cobalt's control arm with Powell trailing spherical control arm bushing and my wheel hop problem was eliminated.

Also if you look around F23 is a fairly common transmission and easy to find replacements if you break. Some people with the SS Cobalts swap to the F23 for this reason. So far it has been a pretty tough transmission for me. Has over 100,000 miles and 20,000 of those miles have been boosted.

So I contacted powell and I'm not exactly sure what bushings go in the part I have. I believe its the aluminum lower control arm off of an 06 ss/sc and it needs new bushings. Which bushing replacement set would I be looking at getting?

As for the rotated mount I asked about that and got this reply "The OEM mount is not rotated..
We use the OEM core and engineer the insert to make it rotated.. " is that the thing you're talking about?

Yes that is the mount youre looking for. Just say F23 rotated trans mounts, gloria will know what youre asking for. Also, the control arm bushings are commonly reffered to as "CABS" and the ones that control wheel hop are the trailing bushings. The leading bushings are a good upgrade too but not as necessary.
