where is all the weight

Hey guys, I am just looking for some good suggestions for were some of the weight (that can be removed or replaced) on the car is going to be. I already know body panels can be replaced with fiberglass or CF, I also heard on this forum about the bar that holds in the back seat weighs a bit. Basically if you were to try to make the car weigh as little as possible where would you get rid of the weight from, be creative!

this is what i'm thinking so far:

Fiberglass body panels- all of them (except for maybe the doors)
The backseat assembly
replace front seats with CF racing seats
Gut most of the interior and spare tire ect.
replace the gas tank with an aluminum fuel cell
carpet and insulation
reduce the speaker system (i still wanna listen to some tunes)

Lighter wheels
Lighter battery
Remove A/C and all associated plumbing - you'll need an idler pulley
Replace rear windows and sunroof with plastic ones
Full steel exhaust

the backseat bar thing was bs.

the guy tried to say he removed 150lbs just with the backseat and the bar.
its more like 30 lbs combined.

the front seat + back seat + spare + jack + pioneer sub + mats and junk is about 150-160lbs

our fuel tanks are plastic.
go get a 3" hole saw, and go to town!!!
remove all the sound deading stuff, you might have to tare the interior apart to do that.

That back bar on its own weighs in at 2x.xx lbs. 15lb spare, 20lb jack and tools, 5 lb spare cover/SoundD. One lower seat belt portion that can be removed. I'm sure both the top sections of the seat belts are removeable, I haven't looked to see how difficult they would be. Don't forget to rip out the bracketry that would hold in car seats in the back, that weighs a good 3-4 lbs. That would be an easy 60-70lbs reduction easy. If you wanna go crazy, start by pulling the front seat and pioneer sub, and you're sitting at an easy 130-140lbs. Also get rid of all the trunk carpeting that goes on the insides of the fenders. I hear there are two brackets on the block that are unnecessary, but I never looked into removing mine. Remove the intake silencer, and engine cover. If its for the drag strip, pull out one headlight assembly.

I bet the best way to reduce weight would be to remove all the sound deadening material. They put that **** everywhere because the first gen ion owners complained that the interior noise was too much. I bet you could lose probably 100lbs in sound deadener alone.
