Its already been pointed out, but having two dads in the oil business and a friend's dad thats at ConocoPhillips...oil gets mixed at the refineries anyway, so a tank of "saudi" oil will also contain oil from Bakersfield, Cali and maybe a dash of Venezuela if that was on the same trip.

Reasons for high cost have nothing to do with oil companies, either. Thats simply demand. Right now two of the most populated nations-India and China- are developing, and their requirements for oil have gone through the roof. The second side of the rising costs of oil, I would like to blame on analysts, who really impact the market with their "predictions". Always saying there will be a shortage, even when there isn't, and are able to bump up the price you have to pay for a tank of any gas.

I even remember an article about the guy that pushed oil above $100. Said he did it just so he'd have a story to tell the kids later in life. Also said he lost $600 on it.

Now since I remember, this is really off topic...I need go to go bed, haha.

Honestly, I could care less. When I need gas, I go to the closest gas station. I prefer Shell, BP and Exxon.
