Not that I really car what anyone thinks (personally no one has ever said anything to me)
but i see on alot of websites people hate cobalts with a passion... why?

Personally I don't really hate other cars as long as what they do is clean..

well i just happen to really see it just now in fact becuase i was looking at videos on streetfire and ive never been there before and these people with cougars were talking about walking ss/scs and **** and im just thinking to myself.."hmm, I had a cougar.....and last i remembered it was slow as hell..."

Not sure what year of cougar your talking about but i beat one (at the strip) in my 2.2L with just a cai, and he had exhaust, trans shift kit and airbox mod (this was a 94 4.6L V8, the bigger cougars lol). If he still had the car i would walk him now with my full exhaust.

 

I beat an early 90's one at the track.... and he had DR's! he sounded mean, made a lot of noise but couldn't back up those straight pipes. The video is online here somewhere, BriantheLion26 posted it.

 

People hate on everything, who cares? People always fear what they don't know and they trash material things they don't own to compensate for low self esteem.

I really don't care what people think about my car, I do things so I can enjoy it. Like sound system and a bit more power. I'm modding a mitsubishi gst next year so its nice to have nice reliable car like my ss/sc that can still bring some grins and giggles.

I didn't know much either back in the day. I thought my 02 camaro ss was so fast until I went to a Daimler/Chrysler shootout in Michigan and couldn't even count the number of 10 second eclipses that were there.

cause majority of the cobalt they race and bash on are stock or using gm upgrades which are dog slow imo.... I personally have met several people said they hated cobalts and had no respect for them till they came across mine

i think its more the drivers than the car.
the cobalt ss s/c is the LOWEST age demographic of all cars except the scion tc. i believe the avg. ss s/c owner is 19-23 years old

 

because who really cares?
everybody hates somebody for something.
car,race,sex,shoes,what kind of gum you chew...whether it be a valid reason or some insignificant personal bs.

Why does anyone even care if someone hates on their car, any car? If they've got a faster car, not much you can say, just admit it and move on. If they don't, go "educate them" and be done with it.

Some people hate because they are jealous. I think that is the most reasonable explanation. They don't have one so they hate on it. I'm not saying it is true for all haters, but many people hate on something because they are jealous and they want to put what you have down.

 

exactly. refer to my first post about the age demographic. at least when i had one i brought the demo up a little bit to compensate for the 17yr olds that got one

when i went wingless i sold my wing to a toolbag with a mid 90's neon r/t. i wish i had a pic of it on there. it looks terrible. (aside from the obvious reasons, my wing was black, on his blue neon.)

 

There's a lot of ss/sc owners that are not on this board and are cocky as hell. I would know, i've met 2 of them so far. Didn't even know the site existed but thought they were so fast they could beat anything

 

I have never had anyone say anything bad about my car besides local V8 guys that we always get into it with... in a joking matter. But for the most part everyone around my area knows how quick my car is, granted i always race from a roll, from a dig half the cars i beat from roll would walk me, this thread is pointless.

 

^^ that seems to be the case with most cobalt owners in jersey. i met a spanish guy with a stock ss s/c that said mine was slow! (at the time i was driving my old '06 ss s/c wich was trapping 106) some people just dont understand...
