Why would i?

I have been thinking about turboing my ss/sc for a while now, but in the end it just doesnt make sence to me i guess, i spend 21,XXX on a SUPERCHARGED car that only ran from 2005 to 2007, which makes it pretty rare, then on top of that destroy every rareness of the car by even making the badging wrong.

Now i am not agaist anyone who wants to turbo their ss/sc, just in my mind i would be destroying what the car was and is, the resale will drop, noone wants a car modded by someone else, and i prolly will not keep this car to its lifes end.

On the other hand, having 275+whp with only a few thousand dollars spent would be awsome. Really having trouble making up my mind.

Plz someone give me some helpful insight.

And maybe in a couple of years they will release a ss/tc, I just dont know.

If you really want to mod, resale value shouldn't be too big of a deal to you. You need to keep it in consideration, but in the end the point is to go faster, not be frugal.

Keep the blower and spend a grand on a fully ported head. You'll have 300whp and be happy

so your goal is 275? you don't need a turbo for that. get a 2.8 supporting mods and bolt ons and you'll be there. and the cobalt is not rare, nor will it ever be. when it goes out of production it will soon be forgotten.

if i do the smaller pulley way, i would end up spending about $2200 for everything. If the turbo kit from CA comes out at $2500, that will be my choice....

**** I don't really care about resale or rarity, cause yeah it is just a cobalt. Just wait til my car come back in the spring lol. big turbo, built motor, 500whp. I think a properly built and modded car would be worth more in the long run to me, also I don't ever plan on selling it anyway. If it breaks, I just make it stronger and faster. and mind you with the C/A kit I made 326whp uncorrected, pretty much still untuned, set up for safe daily driveability, and I have a horrendous boost leak. Properly tuned on 23psi I should be in the 350-375 whp range, and still on the stock motor and original clutch

Just waiting for him to get back from SEMA and finish up another project. But it should definitely be in the $2200-$2500 range, and will be released as soon as I can leave my car back there for him to make extra pipes and such as templates.

Look at what a 69 Nova SS 396 in original condition brings now a days . They were the cobalt ss/sc of their generation . No one thought they would be worth anything either .
