Yeah Baby

I finally got a car I love. 2006 Chevy Cobalt SS/SC Yellow. Damn, that fact that it is fast, stylish and American (No offense to imports I love you too but I gotta represent), makes it a complete package. And to put icing on the cake it is kinda rare, I haven't seen one on the street and I love that! Anyway, hey everbody, nice to meet you all

Kris

Welcome to the forums. Have fun, enjoy this vehicle to it's fullest, cause now you don't need a reason or excuse to want to go out for random, no destination drives, other than the fact you can, and will.

No doubt, I went through 3 fill ups in one weekend, put 100 miles on the car in a day. which is sayin something for me since it wasn't a road trip, and the cobalt isn't my daily driver.

Hmmm

Ok, so I broke down at midnight, after reading all these damn posts, I had to go take a drive, ended up being like a 45 min cruise. I know it is fast in a straight line but I was curious of it's capabilities through some mild twisties. I took it through Sepulveda blvd. here in So. Cal, and holy ****** ****, thats all I can say. According to the reviews there are better handleing cars in this class blah blah blah, but this is my first performance car and I was not dissappointed one bit. Never heard the tires screetch, it attacked the corners like a champ.I'm not so much a fan of drag racing, I will mess around on the freeway from time to time, I'm more interested in like AutoX and stuff like that. I am curious, how does this car, stock SS/SC no lsd, compare (straight line and handling) to the RX8 and the new Civic SI <---some guy in my apartment just got one and I don't think he has ever heard of the Cobalt...but he will muhahaha

I think you will kill the SI in almost every way. I test drve one and was not impresed at all. As for the RX8 Im not sure. I have never driven or raced one.

Well congrats is in order!!!!

I also love my new red SS Balt & I have to agree with you thats it's the best of about all world as the only thing I could actually whinnnn about is room for 4 as I just got rid of a Supercharged Tahoe & was use to being the driver to most places but man I realy don't miss the gas bills !!!!!!!

Today I left work the same time my son did (we work at the same place) & we sort of raced home as he has a 2000 Eclipse with minor mods & we were darting in & out of traffic & by chance I got stuck behind a slow poke but I did manage to make up some time & pass him about 5 blocks from home but just to say we were having a blast & we managed to stay under 90mph & play it sort of safe ha ha ha I love my balt

I thought it was worth sharing

Ok... more adventures of the "Killer Bee" <---might call her that? Anyway, there is a guy at my job who claims to be a tuner, he knows some stuff. He has like a 96 honda civic hatchback with a GSR motor swap. We kinda raced on the freeway, I'm a newb when it comes to racing so I messed up the start. He was saying I was fast and it might be a good race, I may beat him. Then he took me for a ride in his car... it wasn't that fast imo. Givien some time to learn how to drive this beast, I'm sure I would beat his ass. How fast is are the 96 hatchbacks with a stock GSR motor, do they even come close to the SS/SC?

I park Hanzo next to my window at work so I can stare all day! I'm becoming obsessed
