This is for you hackabuse !!

Ok ever since ive met hackabuse on here and found out he is leasing his balt. i've always wondered why he has put so much $$ into the thing to get rid of it in 2-3 years. I am asking you hackabuse to enlighten me on what your plan is because i cannot for the life of me figure out why. ss/sc front, decals, springs, rims/wheels, what ever else you've done. are you planning on another 2.2 after this? buying this out at the end? im sure others have wondered the same thing :P so please enlighten me still much <3 towards your balt and i am still trying to find a ss/sc front for mine. looks killer!

ME
"BTW: Hack, why is yours going back to stock? Selling it?"

HIM
I'm returning mine to stock for money on my new project

HIM
I'm going to attempt to build a VTEC Mini
I've been thinking about it for 3 years now, and I'm gonna go for it

ME
AH....I see. I saw that article amout the VTEC mini. It looks and sounds pretty badass. GL with it.

HIM
When I first read the article about 0-60 in 5 seconds on a stock engine, I was sold

HIM
I'll keep everyone updated, I plan on buying the mini in a few months, and the new engine and subframe sometime next spring if all goes well

ME
Sounds cool. Take LOTS of pics!!

HIM
I want to set up a time-lapse digi cam hooked up to a laptop, and I'll turn it on everytime I work on the car, it would make for an awesome video
He is going to part out his car fairly soon. He's going to do a Mini VTEC project.

Mkulrey why post this for everyone to see? Its kind of making him look bad and putting him on the spot. We can all ask our questions like I have one for you...why would you mod a 4 door sedan?

Im not sure if I want to use a VTEC or a Yamaha Genesis Extreme engine with a CVT, CVT is too tempting, and the Genesis engine would fit very easily

CVT.... meaning continuous valve timing or something?

I'll assume you're not meaning a CVT transmission.

OMG ewwww....

have you ever driven anything with a CVT??

My mom's audi has one... it's horrible.... gimme a good ol' 5-speed or even a regular automatic any day....

It's like... you hit the gas... count to three... then accellerate. Go test drive something with a CVT before you do it man. Also... noone knows how long these CVT trannys are going to last... they may crap out after 5 years.... I don't think any of the major manufacturers have had them out for long enough to know yet.

I bet he wonders why the hell you'd put a SS/SC body kit on your BASEMODEL. Don't talk **** when you have nothing to back it up with.

Do not care how light the car is, a CVT is still a turd when compared to a manual.

Take your RX Warrior out into daily driving traffic sometime and tell me how you like it.

Not knocking you at all... it's a good idea... but driving a CVT off road is different from handling one on the streets every day. They're made to save gas... not for performance.

Based on the concept I cant see how it would be, and I've never had a problem with my RX Warrior, so I dont see why not

I will likely buy an RX Warrior or RX-1 and use the engine and drivetrain, and leave nothing behind but the drivetrain

So you're saying the CVT in my RX Warrior is meant for gas mileage, and not performance

That doesnt make any sense to me?!

Plus this car will not be a daily driver, It will be a weekend/show toy
I will have my balt for daily driving

hmm... an interesting idea... are those emissions legal? Gotta worry about the legality of doing something like that too... getting the car licensed is a bit more difficult now-a-days.

It would also be quite expensive considering the amount of body work involved
