Your thoughts on SS sedan?

I am new here and have been seriousy considering an SS sedan. Some background first as to why I like the sedan. I have always dug the Mercedes c230, 190e etc which are sedans as well as the BMW 318-325 etc which are sedans as well. I think they look great as a sedan and I think the SS looks good as one as well. Are there any sedan SS owners here? I am not really into the SS s/c, it is a great car but it seemed a bit out of my price range and I am looking for something a tad different from my 97' Cavalier Z24 coupe.
My Z24 only has 51k miles on it and is in GREAT condition, so I am really on the fence about even making the jump into a car payment now when I dont really have too.
Any thoughts on my situation? What might you do in my position?
Thanks guys.

I would like to do it but I am having hard time finding exactly what I want which is Orange, manual trans, leather, no sunroof, no xm, no sunroof....just to keep costs down. They are a bit hard to find. 4 dealers in my immediate area and there about 5 sedans total. Ugh. It does look great in the orange though. The red is good too but my Z24 is red and I have had that almost 10 years and want to do a different color.

The sedan looks nice.. Its really all up to you. If u can afford it, I would go for it. If you can't, I would stick with your car for now till u can.

Have you done some mods to it at all? I would like to do some minor cosmetic stuff if it isnt too difficult/expensive. A friend of mine works at one of the dealers and can do window tinting more or less for free. Are some easy performance sort of mods as well? I don't really love a ton of FAST AND FURIOUS sort of tuning stuff. I like non gaudy sort of mods.

As a general rule, I tend to like the looks of coupes better than sedans. The only issue I have with the Cobalt sedan are the rear taillights. Not really feeling them.

As for finding the car you want, sounds like you're going to have to order it. Good luck with that. I paid less for my 2.0 S/C off the lot than most people did who ordered the 2.4 from the factory. GM really doesn't like to offer incentives on factory orders, I don't know why.

Yeah...who knows what they will find. Sounds like 0% is coming back on tuesday. Looks like they are giving me $2500 trade for mine plus I have around another $3000-4000 cash for the deal plus another couple hundred $ possibly...so I would like to find what I want but don't think I want to order...seems like a hassle and you cant lock into any particular incentive.
And yes, the tail lights are better on the coupe, too bad they werent similar on the sedan.

Man the SS sedan is my fourth vehicle and bar far the best i've had. The handling / acceleration are great and its a BLAST to drive. The SS/sc was just beyond my price range to. i basically had to choose between the 2 door or 4 door SS 2.4l and ended up choosing the 4 door because i just liked the style a lot better + when i go places i generally have 3 or 4 ppl with me. looks great in red w/ really dark windows!

Yeah, that is nice. Good for you and glad to hear you like it. I know I will. Just want to find the one I REALLY want, not pay for stuff I dont need etc. I will definetely get the windows tinted. That looks great!
Thanks for the reply and input. I have a red Z24 so I was leaning towards a different color since I have had red for nearly 10 years. Was wanting something different, but who knows.

I must admit... the SS sedans do look really nice. I'm still waiting for someone to put the SS/SC lip kit and wing on a sedan. That would look awesome IMHO.

Maybe someone on here could photoshop it?

The sedan reminds me a bit of the Lexus IS300 perhaps? I love those things...real nice design, at least the older IS, not sure about the new one though.
Hey CoAL67...is your sedan a manual or automatic?? I hope it is the stick!
It is illegal here as well to tint the passenger doors too but I have a buddy who works at the dealer and he'll do it. He says he really has never been bothered by the fuzz about it. He did say that the State Troopers seem to be the ones that give you a bit more grief about it. Has anyone on the board here tinted the doors and been hassled about it or ticketed?

I cannot STAND the sedan's tail lights. They look too much like a Celica's lights. I dunno who submitted the sedan design, but they need tarred and feathered. The 4 round ones would have been great for the sedan. Other than that, I'm ok with the sedan.

I am digging that body kit on the Touring Sedan.

Well it looks like an orange SS sedan is on the way for me. How is the 7 speaker system? Do you need to add an amp to really utilize it?

Picking up the orange SS sedan tomorrow. Kinda am sad to leave my Cavy Z24 behind. A 97 with 51k miles. I have cared for it really well and am fairly well attached to her. I know its a Cavalier but........pics in my gallery after I get the SS, dont feel like downloading the pics yet.

speaking of the tailights i was thinking it would not be to difficult to convert the sedan tailights to the coupe tailights.... it would have to be customized somewhat but not to awful bad. and if you could do that i would like the sedan much much more and wouldnt be against the looks of it at all.

Hell yeah that is a great design. Somewhat European IMO. Kinda BMW/Benz, perhaps a bit of Volvo/Audi too.
I really love the rims on the Mercedes C230, would love to see something similar on the SS sedan ( I am still on the fence if I dig the SS rims and would like to see something different on it than what everyone else has).
