looks like a good piece, but I still dont care for how there is a flange to bolt it to the car. In time I've seen the welds break using TTR's and Eibach's bar as an example. Having a bar with a bolt-through design (powells) still seems superior in that regards

powell XXX 1.5" bar vs. TTR 1" bar
add on all the other quality suspension products Powell makes for us and its litterally Powell or nothing IMO. OTTP's bar is nothing more than a knockoff of Powell's (no offense to those owning OTTP bars)

I shall elaborate. Powell wants to charge me $315 shipped for the hardcore bar when ZZP's s $215 shipped... I save $100. I dont know, I have been in the game 10 years and I cannot understand why I am paying $60+ to ship a damned sway bar, ZZP charges 18$ (even if it is over a border)

its the same the other way. UPS charges 35 dollars per shipment for us to canada parcels per parcel.
I am surprised if Gloria quoted 60 dollars to ship to PA. I will find out, sorry we could not help you. I hate shipping, and we kept a lot of our YYZ spring inventory state side to avoid just such issues.
Padlock and the others get it. OTT copied it but didnt do it exactly, so its not the same. ZZP did the flange deal and thats the way it is. Yields at the flange. It is entirely possible ,the vendor that copy but do not understand roll center changes and the torsional reaction of a twisting beam and its shear point. So the make up of the bar, the wall thickness, the source of the material and the bending and welding is all important. Fortunately, we do understand some of these things, up north.
Just not shipping costs across the border.
It is impossible for me to comment on some of the vendors on this site, but I will say this: I do business with ZZP they are first class to deal with. Some of their fabrication, like the BLRT S256 turbo conversion is a work of art.

I am in no way knocking you guys, I'm damn sure you guys make awesome stuff. When I emailed you guys I was told the bar was $250 and shipped to Pa the total was $310. I would rather have the powell bar, but I have other things I want too lol!

We designed a sway bar in a way we felt worked best on the car. We took many variables into consideration and of course looked at some of the other things out there. AFter designing it, we ran them on our vehicles. ZZP is a vendor that owns the cars we do mods for. We drive them daily, race them, develop our own parts for them.
We would not have designed a product prone to failure of course. Having said that, no one is every going to have 100% perfection forever. That's what we strive for but we also warranty our parts and stand behind them if there is an issue. If these sway bars ended up being defective for any reason, we'd replace them all no charge. If someone ever broke one and no one has, we'd warranty it. ZZP is the largest Cobalt vendor by a huge margin and we aren't going anywhere.

we make genuine original stuff.
we are not the largest vendor by far.
we road race our stuff constantly.
We have been modifying the delta platform before any vendor here. Fact.
We built racing Cobalts for GM before factory production started. At this time of the year, as a matter of fact, in 2004.
Enough back slapping.
Shipping costs are a pita for everyone, but OP it helps if you compare exact same products though and a hardcore bar is 35 dollars less than a triple X.
But not as cheap as the TTR /Progress/ ZZP bars, or the OTT copy.

I wanted to buy a few pieces from Powell a month or so back and was told to email Gloria. I emailed her my wants and asked for a quote back with shipping and never heard back from her. It was the correct email address because I got an out of office response back but it was date from September (this was back at the end of October). I was told by a few "followers" that they were out of town and to basically hold my horses...well needless to say I never got a response. Not a great first impression IMO.

I am very sorry about it, but there is not much I can do about it unless you try to contact us directly . Perhaps next time you would consider a CSS PM ; we have about 1400 pms in our box, all of which have been answered to the best of my knowledge.
We are not on the Chevy HHR forum they would not approve my application for membership.
