thanks
was the motor cold? if so this sounds like normal cold start idle.
Also for the light, make sure you did not overoil the filter, get some CRC Mass Air flow cleaner and clean the maf then see

could be the engine adjusting but check your connections and make sure everything is sealed tight and ready to go.
as for the oil, the filters can be oiled too much, I would def recommend cleaning the maf, I'd bet that you would lose the light go to autozone and make sure it is PO171

How exactly are you guys cleaning the airflow sensor? With an air hose or a liquid spray?

buy a compressed can of electronics cleaner or MAF cleaner

and to be honest air intake cleaner also works and wont harm the sensor

some people lightly use a q tip the only problem is the small hairs from the cotton swab might get stuck....if you do that spray pressured air on it.... make sure its completely dry before you plug it back in``

Did you CEL clear as well? Also there is a PCM update for our cars pertaining to the CEL caused by a CAI.

q tips disintegrate easily, go to radio shack and get some compressed electronics swabs if you have to do it that way, but the $6 can will last for the life of the car, couple squirts and it's done

I did this mod last night with a 25$ filter from Autozone. It is awsome and i havent had any cel's yet. I would say i have driven the car about 50 miles from last night and its all good. I did not disconnect the negative battery cable yet but im planning on it. The only thing im not happy with is when i take off first gear is awsome but i shift to second and push it to the floor and the car falls on its face till about 2 grand then takes off. Anyone else had this problem? Im hopeing that disconnecting the negative battery cable will fix this but i doubt it. I haven had a chance to go to the dealarship to get the new flash but from what im reading i should probably go do it soon. Great advice and thanks for the help.

uimmm... how are you getting to under 2,000 rpms in a 1st to 2nd shift?? maybe it's your shifting which is putting your car totally out of it's powerband, not the filter

take a 1 inch hole cutter for a door lock and drill carefully planned holes all over leaving good material to maintain some strength. then put the lid back on. I even put holes in the cover. you need the bottom cover to hold the filter in.

i know this thread is old but i just read the how-to part and noticed teh filter used. the how-to is great, but the filter i would NEVER use. i had on on my 1995 CHev tahoe wit a 6.5L Diesel in it. well after about 5 months with it my truck started to run like crap. after looking at it i found that the metal ring on the inside of the filter came off and sucked into the turbo!!!! it took me months to get a rebuild from the guy i bought the filter from but i did. just to let you all know. i would never use a filter with a metal ring on the inside.( like the one in this how to

What exhaust are you going with? I'm curious on dyno numbers for Corsa and GMPP. The magnaflow seem to be consistent, but GMPP are all over the place and I have yet to hear of a Corsa Dyno number.

What were your TQ numbers...is the 4.5 HP gain peak gain or best gain?

If I don't want to mess with the cutting and I want to spend the dosh on the AEM CAI what gains should I expect on a GM stage 2 tuned car? 9HP...less....more.....? Best gain? Peak gain?
