I'm doing this for the first time on a Cobalt. All the dash peices are in tighter than I expected them to be and I'm worried I'm going to break something. =((

you can take that metal peice out. i did when installed my double din radio. it just two bolts. the dash is fine with it out.

Cool, I just got a new head unit for my car, I was going to pay $45 at this place I was going to go to, but now that I found this how-to, I think I might try it myself. Thanks a lot

so really the ONLY way to remove this is just to pull? there's no way around the "chance" of breakin the clips at all?

When I pulled one of the panels out, the clips didn't come out, but it was no big deal. I just took the clip out with some pliers and put it back on the plastic piece.

Not sure what you mean by 2005 is greater than 2007. My guide covers 05-07 models.

In the pic of the console that shows the passenger side panel removed, what is all the wiring for? Would that be for the factory pioneer system, onstar, or something else? Would that space be empty in a 2007 ls?

Lol alright so im assuming that theres plenty of 12V options for me to hardwire my neons, but i'd like for them to come on when the key is turned to accessory, when the headlights and dash turn on.
Is there anyway to get ahold of a diagram of the wiring?
or does anyone know off the top of their head?

empty fuse slot 22 will do that but you will need a mini make a fuse kit. and there should be a little diagram of what all the fuses are on the panel
