How To: Add Heat with no HVAC
So as many of you know, its winter, and its cold. Well i have no HVAC which means no heat and no defrost. my "defrost" is actually just cold air blowing on the windshield. It works but it makes everything oh so cold. So i was sick of it, and did something about it.
Tools Needed:
Fuse puller if you have weak baby fingers, or giant man hands that can't grab.
20amp mini fuse
Rally Universal Heater/Defroster from Wal-Mart
Step 1
Acquire tools, open hood.
Step 2
Remove fuse box cover, locate Cigarette Lighter fuse. it is the 15amp fuse next to the far left bolt.
Step 3
Remove 15amp and replace with 20amp fuse.
Step 4
Install and mount heater wherever you'd like.
And you now have a heater/defroster on your non-hvac car. It comes with a velcro mount so you can put it anywhere. the main body also detaches from the mount to be used to melt ice and frost on the outside of the windshield. Just as a precaution, do not leave the unit plugged in while you are not in the car. And obviously with a 20amp draw do not use the heater while the car is not on.

On RV forums I read great things about the cheap 12v heated throw blankets available at truck stops and at Camping World. It will keep the kids or girlfriend warm and you can allays sit on it while you drive.
