How To: Fix sunroof bezel
I know a lot of people have been complaining about their sunroof bezels popping off, so I thought I'd make a quick write-up on how I fixed it on my car.
I had a lot of trouble getting the bezel to stay in place once I popped it back on, only having it pop back off everytime I used the sunroof. This is a little bit of a sloppy fix, but it seems to do the job, and will hold that bezel very securely.
I dont have a picture of what the clips looked like before the fix, but on the left side of the opening you'll need to flatten out the metal clips as shown in the picture below. You'll also need to flatten out the clip opposite of the one circled.
Now we need to focus on the actual bezel. Shave the outer edges of one of the clips on the bezel, and shave a little off of the grabbing part of the clip too. This will allow it to fit between the loop and the clip of the flattened metal.
From there, its easiest if you pull down the headliner. You can do this pretty easy by just folding up the weather stripping around the sunroof, and pulling down on the headliner.
Align the shaved clip with the metal loop in the headliner. Push down from the inside of the headliner while you're pushing up on the bezel and everything should snap back into place. If done correctly, it'll look good as new, and wont be falling back down anytime soon.

Thanks.
Too bad my stealership didn't know about this. The service manager accused me of breaking it (the little edges of the clip that grab seemed stripped to me) so he then proceded to push it up so hard that he damaged the retainer clip and now the whole headliner would have to come out and new retainer clip (under warranty).
I went and bought a new bezel ($7.50 Can), fixed the clip and and installed the bezel myself.
No way I was going to let them get warranty bucks after the way I was treated.

Yeah, I thought this looked familiar.
You have a good picture of shaving the plastic tabs however, which is helpful.

There's a bulletin for this to replace the plasic bezel and metal retainer. It's under warranty. If your cars not its only about 15 bucks in parts and about 10 minutes to install.
