2.0 LSJ Engine: HOW To - Flush after cooler and heat exchanger
in stock trim the intercooler pump will kick on after 10 secs? I cant ever recall hearing mine come on or seeing it come on.
also will it be possible for me to attach a seperate hose from the reservoir so that i dont spray the water everywhere?
and im not understanding how exactly to insure that all of the air pockets will be removed

after you get pure water coming out, leave that water in and just add through the filler neck. you just have to let the pump run for a while and keep topping it off until the filler neck stays full. leave the cap off and the air bubbles will relieve themselves
Just mixed up my own batch and flushed it.
2 gal distilled, 1 bottle of water wetter, and about 1/3 gal of straight coolant (so i can run through the winter)
That clamp is the hardest part to get off. Rest is cake. I just let it run to where my coolant looked like the color of my mix and stopped the pump. Going to let the pump run a while to make sure all the air is out.
I will check the IAT2s this Saturday, track day.

I am getting ready the flush the system on mine soon, and had a question. Does the screw on top of the passenger side of the stock aftercooler aid much at all when flushing and refilling the system? Or will refilling the system with the pump turn on release any air trapped through the the stock "t" shaped filler neck? I didn't see any mention of this, but jsut wondering if it is really necessary to take the aftercooler bleeder out
I did mine ages ago and I do not have the option B. Worst part is just getting all the air out when you are done. If you do it right you can minimize how much air gets into the system. I did use the stock bleeder to help remove some air, but you end up getting coolant down between the h/e, ac, and radiator, and you will smell coolant for days. Let the cap off and let the pump run for a while and it will bleed out eventually, just keep topping it off.
same here. car wouldn't suck it out till i turned car on. didnt mean to bring this thread back from the dead. How long does it take for the air to filter out. Does the neck filler have to have water/anti freeze in it if the car is off?
