Appearance: How To - Install and Aim NEW Projectors
the beam was to narrow. didnt light up the road better then the stock lights. maybe i didnt have the beam focused right or not but i couldnt figure out how to adjust it. on my girls 2008 Tiburon, she has factory projectors and the beam was perfect.
im not sure what gen projectors i have, but i was wondering how to wire up the halo rings.....i see a white wire and black wire for them.....i also see a few sets of a red wire and black wire for the small LEDs in the bottom of the headlight.....all i want to do is hook up the halo rings.....

little silver knobs behind the low beam. The one closest to the side of the car is up and down. Turning it left will aim the light up, turning it right will aim the light down. I used a 1/4" stocket wrench with a tiny socket to turn it. The Silver knob on the inside of the headlight is the left and right adjustment.
Also the purpose of the cutoff is to help avoid blinding oncoming drivers. When properly aimed, the light cutoff will be below the sight line of oncoming drivers. That way you're still getting light out there, but its not directly hitting the other drivers in the face. With reflector housings, there is no sharp cutoff, so if you would put a HID system into the stock reflector, you'd be dazzling other drivers with it.
here are some pics my 8k's vs stock GTI

Thanks for this OP! It was super easy, and I'm aimed properly now with my Gen4s.
I would likely have tried it sooner or later (figured that thing was for aiming), but it's a lot easier to get motivated to do it when you know for sure!

If one knob really is for up/down and one is for left/right, that would explain why I've had such a bitchy time aiming these things.
