I had a defective LED; it started flashing, making the other 3 in series flash also. Since I was replacing it, I decided to take some pics.

I just installed the diodes and adjustable resistors. I will wait untill dark to adjust the brightness of the lights when the parking lights are on. I have full brightness when the brakes or turn signals are on. I will put up pictures later.

hell ya...

in terms of the install you got the adjustable resistors and hooked each one to each wire as well as a diode?

This should help. Parts used 2 20K ohm adjustable Resistors and 4 1N4001 Diodes.
With the adjustable resistors you can change the brightness of the lights when the parking lights are on. the higher the resistance the more dim they will appear. If there is not enough resistance when you hit the brake or turn signal there will not be a visible change in the brightness.

Anyone seen these yet? I m thinking this would work pretty well, all you would have to do is drill the holes and secure the strips, then 2 wires, and voila, you would have a smoothly lit up light.

LED Strip

They look cool but I don't think they would work for the backup light mod. I do not think there is enough room behind the light for the strip to work.

Once I get my LED's I will post up pics. I am trying to get rid of the standard bulb and replace all the rear lights with LED rings. Atleast that is my plan.

It would not take much to make. I was thinking of trying to find some good plugs to allow the wires to be remove from the backup light assembly. Once I find some I could put plugs on the circuit with precut wires that would have to be hooked into the stock wiring harness.

I got to follow my car to see how it looks the other night. I need to take a video. The rings around the backup lights look pretty cool when going down the road.

you could always use the plugs from like a computer power supply. thats how my bi-xenon projectors are wired and plug into my wiring harness

What do you want to know? I could do a little research.

I thought this would help with the backup lights. The adjustable resistors I used were 20K ohms but I think you could get by with 10K ohms

Man guys, I just did this reverse light, break LED light Mod and it took quite a bit of time. My tally is about 18 man hours of work.

I used 8 LEDs in each taillight, and I didn't have the LEDs with wires so I had to solder all the connections myself + add to that, that this was the first time in my life using a soldering gun. My dad had to jump in and help me out pretty much through the whole thing as I would have had to take the bus the next day, that's how long it would have taken by myself. Interesting thing is my dad doesn't like modding cars, yet really enjoyed this project.

However, in the end I'm really satisfied with the job, and the lights look actually better than I expected. They came out bright and evenly spaced so I'm really happy.

I'll edit this post with some pictures when I get them done in the next couple of days. brb

OK, here are those pictures I promised. Enjoy.

This one is with the reverse light on. The bright white light pretty much outshines all the LEDs.
