Make a Nice Affordable Lip
Well, It's the Home Depot $10 dollar lip. I think it looks decent for the cost, plus you don't have to worry about cracking/scratching it. Everyone who see's my car loves it.
If you guys wanna try it out and see how you like it, then here's the instructions on how to put it on. Only thing is, in the directions, they say to nail or screw it in, and I didn't do that cause the 3M Heavy Duty Double Side Stick tape works well. Here is the How To Step 1: Go to Home Depot! http://www.homes-germantown-maryland...%20Depot-l.jpg Step 2: Get Garage Door Bottom Seal, i think they come in 9 ft packs, one will be enough, 2 if u think u will mess up (part #03749)(also notice that there is a foam type and a hard rubber type, i prefer the foam) and a two sided double stick tape that is preferably black, lots of tape, lol (less is seen when black) https://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y73/txl146/lip001.jpg https://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a...9/DSC_0195.jpg Step 3: Place Double stick tape On smaller edge of weather striping. https://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a...9/DSC_0196.jpg Step 4: Clean bottom surface of bumper to apply lip. The take off top cover on tape to prepare it to stick on bumper. When putting the lip around the bumper, make sure it sits flush, some like it back more, but i like it flush. Go slow and make sure to get the tape to stick evenly, any extra weather stripping, just cut off flush at the end of the bumper: https://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a...9/DSC_0205.jpg https://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a...9/DSC_0203.jpg https://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a...9/DSC_0202.jpg Step 5 (optional): I put screws in mine just for saftey, but its not needed, but i suggest it. Put a small screw vary on size depending on person along bottom edge on lip into bumper. I used some washers so it had more area on the lip. Make sure to put the screws back far enough that you wont put a screw out the front of the bumper. I put one about every 4-5 inches. https://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a...9/DSC_0206.jpg https://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a...9/DSC_0207.jpg https://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a...9/DSC_0209.jpg And Here is the Finished Product of the GDBS LIP (Garage Door Bottom Seal LIP) LOL http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...t/HPNX3139.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...t/HPNX3140.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...t/HPNX3167.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...t/HPNX3166.jpg Close-Ups http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...t/HPNX3171.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...t/HPNX3172.jpg ENJOY! I think it only looks good on black cars. It's too small of a lip, IMO.

Nice job on a clean install
guys/girls, this is nothing new... many SRT4s and my buddies Redline have this little mod. |
wow, i saw $10 home depot and i cold a shiver down my spine. but seeing that you followed the body lines, this looks good. if i didn't know it was garage door flange, i'd ask what vendor, haha
|
i wonder what happens when ppl start driving like 120km/h or something and dirt and stuff gets into the glue and starts to peel away or something..that would be pretty bad
|
*I cant believe I am saying this...*
But that actually looks good... |
Wait a little over a year and it starts to brown and get brittle ( I work at Home Depot... and we don't even sell that shit for garage door seals anymore! :) )
eh not my car |

I might do this, cant look any worse than my scratches on the bottom from bottoming out

i bet if you slammed ur car to the ground with that rubber lip, it would be the first car that you could use as a squeegy. (sp?)

haha... the lip actually looked pretty good!!! No one could tell what it really was untill I told em. But, it is a cheap and easy mod that does give your car a different look!! Plus, it was only temporary untill i got my SS/SC front lip.

you know you installed it clean enough for it to look okay. but i would never tell anyone what it really was. i'd always be changing the subject:lol: I'm glad it wasn't a permanent mod.
