i guess its not rice if you spend 100 dollars from a vendor for the exact same material right?

Acey 07-02-2008 03:25 AM

I don't think such a lip is necessary for the 2.4... the front lines up nicely with the skirts and rear. To each his own I guess.

that doesnt make it ok for a cobalt :twothumbs. im jk, to each their own but there is a lot of stuff mustang owners do that i would never even think about doing, especially to a cobalt. just me personally, i would never put something from home depot on my car.

only if it costs a 100 more dollars and comes from a vendor right...

to each their own i guess..i think it doesnt look bad..id much rather do that then pay a a company more money just for "name brand" home depot mod

idunn 07-02-2008 06:31 PM

you get what you pay for.

This technique has been around for decades, and it will be quietly approved of in most tuner circles.

Those of you shaking your heads and looking confused are the same ones painting your dashboards and drum brakes.

averagewhiteboy 07-03-2008 01:35 AM

Saw it on a WRX and wanted to see it on a Cobalt. I think it's worth a try for 8 bucks. lol.

Another common lip is also the plastic trim for gardens. The shits like 4 inches high and like an inch thick. Black with a small lip. Looks just like the 300+ dollar lip you can buy after it's all bolted in and shit..

2.2AVC 07-03-2008 09:35 PM

I think its all in the install..obviously if It's clean and done right like this guys it does look good. And if its half hanging off and waving around while your driving, well then that don't look too good...obviously

Yep...lot's of srts and wrxs and just about everything do this "mod" it actually looks pretty good depending on the car just like gutter guard. But who knows what happens when you bottom out...probably rip the damn thing right off.

impulseballer 07-04-2008 12:13 AM

haha very creative.

Jn2 07-07-2008 12:42 AM

i say we ban impulseballer until he starts making CF lips for everyone

averagewhiteboy 07-07-2008 12:50 AM

I tried this the other day.. It looked good on both ends because I could drill holes and actually hold it up with bolts, but it looked sloppy where the bumper bends because the tape would show if you wanted the rubber to be flush and look sloppy if the tape couldn't be seen because there would be a huge gap. So I decided to say screw it. There was alot of plastic behind my bumper making it impossible to use screws the whole time..

CobaltDude81 07-18-2008 06:28 PM

does the lip help the MPG at all? ;)

an0malous 07-19-2008 01:03 PM

Im usually a big fan of neat little ghetto mods like the airbox mod, or the diamond mesh grille...

but i cant get over the fact that it just looks like weather stripping stuck on the lip.

sorry, not feelin this one.

jeremie 07-21-2008 07:01 PM

ssbalt06 08-13-2008 11:53 PM

alittle small for me but none the less a good inexpensive mod !

ItalianJoe1 08-13-2008 11:57 PM

Does it deflect at highway speeds? I would imagine it would move around quite a bit.

Supercharged06 08-14-2008 12:05 AM

it honestly doesnt look that bad
