Remove Back Seats (56 Mabye)

So i have seen a few post about removing the back seats.. Hopefully This Works..

Start By Folding Down The Rear Seats (via the 2 realease buttons in the trunk)

On Both Ouside Edges Of The Rear Seats SHould Be A Pivot Point

Using A Flat Head Screwdriver (farly bigger Size), There is a tap that needs to be pished out to relase the outerside of the seat (shown a bit more in the next picture)

In the next picture you can see how the re4lase mechanism works the first is of it closed (holding the seat in)

This one is on the mechanism realeased(its not much movement but if you look closely you can see hte relase pushed out

When the outer edge is relase pull up on it (not too hard) when the outer edge comes out slide the seat to the outer part of the vehicle and the other side will be realeased (applies for both side, shown is passanger)

WHen both back rests are out now it is time to tackle the seat itself....

You notice that the seat sits underneath the plastic in the corners.

pull up both corners so it looks like (below)

With Both Corners Now Released Pull The Back Of the Seat Up (remembering to take the seat belts out of the slots)

In Order To Release The Seat There Are Two places that hold it down (in the middle of the passanger side, if you where sitting in between your legs), and in the middle of the driverside, if you where sitting between your legs like the pic below (and yes i actually sat down and took a pic between my legs

give the seat a nudge in those two points in order to release the rear seat....

the seat should come loose...

I will continue to try and do an install.... but its a rvers and the only tough part is putting the seat back in (you have to line up the hold down tabs and push it in all at the same time)
With The Seat Pulled up in te middle of the passanger seat the

Damn that was easy! I just took them out in like less than 10 minutes. I tried to weigh them but they're awkward so I think there like 15 or 16 lbs. Thanks again!

Did anyone pull the metal bar that the seat backs are mounted to? It is a heavy SOB but a pain to pull out. Just wondered if anyone found an easy way to do it.

FYI: the opening for the rear seats is just as big as the opening in the trunk
so in case you were thinking your system could go in this way easier, it can not!

I thought about taking it out... but from the way it looks it may be doing some good to strengthen the rear of the car... considering it's bolted through the body all the way across.

I'm probably gonna leave it in.

THis was the only (and i do mean only) way i could get my JL audio 10w7 into the back on my car, the Power Wedge Design is huge and it just barely fit between the opening

u can see it has like mabye a 1cm to fit

as the Shoe in the back, he left 2 shows... no no no, i always leave my dress shows in the back, i cant drive with them so i leave them there...

I found an easier way to pull the bottom seat portion out. If you were to pry something in the two slots to get those bars removed, (final step) if you push it towards the rear it will pop up easier.

I think it would be cool to have some kind of "delete" for the back seat, someting lighter but looks beter than what is under the seats. 99.9% of the time i only have one other person in my car so i dont need a back seat.

Nice write-up..My 2 10" fosgates go in one way and come out one way.. If you're seats are still installed, try placing the box on the rear seats as their folded down in the direction that the box will be sitting in the trunk, then slide it in. Mine barely fit in, couldn't angle it because the seats did not lay down completely flat, and was too big to go through the trunk opening..
