Wish I had bought the 1 piece design.... wound up throwing out my 2 piece as it never fit properly and almost rubbed all the way through the metal piping..

Not sure if the 1 piece will be any better, but hopefully R&D would be a little more extensive the 3rd time around...

The intake did put down significantly more bum power than my current Injen though. The Injen feels a lot more "tame" than my 3" Vortex with exhaust, S2 and new plugs did. Put down 256whp 220tq with it.

Thats too bad you threw it out. Regardless, if anyone has the old version Vortex intake and had it damaged by rubbing, send it back and get in on this new deal with a further reduction. We'll exchange your old version with the new design for $150. Just Keep your filter and silicon sleeves!

Ah, just to clarify. It is still a two piece design, (for ease of installation) It's just that the two pieces have no welds on them.

I didnt throw it out, its sitting in the box for my Injen. $150 to get a couple new pieces of metal isnt worth it to me. I'll keep my tried tested and true Injen that we all know, love and trust. I guess you just live and learn from mistakes you make, should have listened to others when I was warned.

I totally understand where you're coming from and I'm sorry about that. We extend that offer to anyone who wants to upgrade... and to be even further catering to customer service, if you actually have a hole in your existing Vortex intake, we'll swap it with a new non-welded unit for free, just pay the cost of shipping. The nature of the new one is clean, non-welded bends and perfect fitting with protection to the pipe to prevent holes or damage. There's no point having a product from us on there that you're not happy with...

There is no hole in my as of yet, I pulled it out before it could get to that point, no sense ruining an engine over a $200 intake.... if you will take it back with the rubbing marks on it then I will defintely swap it.

Mine pushes the fender well liner out, and there are rub marks on the fender well liner from the tire touching it now.

send them back... we'll swap `em for ya. This way, you can sell the intake or if you choose to run the 3.0" Vortex, even better.

The intake will touch the splash guard.. thats a fact. Even the new one will push on it, (but now they come with a protector sleeve) However, It shouldn't push on it to form a huge bulge. If it does, thats not correct, send it back.

That is an awesome offer! I will definitely take you up on that.

Is it possible I can come down to your shop to swap it? Im always down in the Toronto area.

By the way, your service has always been excellent, when I had trouble installing it you gave me a step by step guide within minutes and even offered to install it free of charge if I came down to the shop, so it doesnt surprise me you are standing behind the product as such.

i have the original 2 piece as well. in one spot the intake just about has a hole in it from rubbing. my fender liner has also gotten chewed up by my tire because the intake pushes it out. i also was throwing an unresolvable lean code until yesterday when i reinstalled my stock air box. plus while trying to install the fit was so tight that a lot of the black paint has peeled off and looks hideous.

it did give a noticeable hp gain and sounds awesome but it gave me more headaches than what i wanted.

if you're willing to trade me with the 1 piece then i'll run it and see how it goes...

anyone with the old style, just hit us up at info@jbodyperformance.com, not a PM... We want to leave this thread to the new style intake and purchases.
