Chevy Cobalt Drift Spec Exahust

JM Auto Racing - View our aftermarket auto parts catalog

Piping Size- 2.5"
Tip Size - 4"

One of Megan Racing s strongest products, the Cat-Back System is made of SUS-304 Stainless Steel with a fully polished surface, CNC machined flanges and mandrel bends. Its aggressive styling, and deep, strong tone are just part of the MR Cat-Back characteristics. It also serves to improve horsepower, torque and overall performance with its straight-through design. The exhaust systems have 2.5” piping and 3” piping for certain forced induction models. Finished with a tip that is designed to increase the scavenging effect and achieve maximum performance, while adding a perfect match on exterior styling as well. As a direct bolt on, each Cat-Back comes with a 12-Month warranty.

Series:

- Drift-Spec

Our new cat back system is the drift-spec style. Designed to give it a more agressive look the exhaust is angled up and outward. Depending on each car and each bumper design, the exhaust will vary upon the direction and angle that it sits.

- 4" tip with Removable Dual-Chamber Silencer that will not Vibrate.

- T-304 Stainless Steel 2.5" piping.

- Smooth bends to increase exhaust flow and performance.

Chevy Cobalt Downpipe

JM Auto Racing - View our aftermarket auto parts catalog

Megan Racing Stainless Steel Downpipes are made of the same High-Quality T-304 that is featured in our Headers and Turbo Manifolds for extreme durability and resistance to corrosion and cracking. The missing component between any Header/Manifold and your Cat-Back system, these Down-pipes will give you the high-flow exhaust system that you desire. With a noticeable power gain and polished finish, these are a perfect touch for any performance vehicle. Expect an increase in exhaust note due to the increase in exhaust flow. (Note: For off-road use only, not intended for use on public highways.)

Specifications and Features:

- 100% SUS-304 Stainless Steel piping mated to computerized CNC-machined flanges using TIG-welds for strong, long-lasting durability

- 3-stage polish for a mirror-like shine

- Increase of 10-16 horse power and torque

- Straight-through design and bolt-on installation

MSRP: $175.00

I also had a Meghan Racing 2.5" myself for about 3 years or better and the noise got to be quite overbearing after putting on an aftermarket header and downpipe (DP). Not to mention the loud bark sound as you throttle down and come to a complete stop. I'm not saying this is a bad exhaust by no means but keep in mind your future plans for your ride when making purchases like this. It's a great deal but if you already want a 3" exhaust and plan to heavily modify your Balt, I'd suggest buying a Hahn's exhaust. It has a great sound, performs well and won't direct as much attention to you from the cops as most of the other rice burner sounding exhausts will. Also depends on the year/model Cobalt you have as well. Some of the newer LNF Balt owners seem to be complaining of fitment issues of the Hahn's exhaust on lowered Balts. I have an 07 LSJ model with a Hahn's header, DP and catback exhaust and have no problems lowered.

Don't just take my opinion though...do some more research and maybe even listen to some Youtube videos of the different exhausts before making a decision. Some people like louder sounding exhausts and if you are one of them then buy a Meghan Racing exhaust I loved mine for the longest time after I bought it brand new and later decided to look for a higher flowing, more quiet exhaust setup.
