Also, I noticed that the size of them make them stand up rather tall even with a 15' rim, your not lowered I take it correct? I'm not and I squeezed by with Nittos on my car.

they are track only, when I burn this set up I am going to full slicks.
The 15 inch rim is off a saab 900, 94 or 95. I bought them at a junkyad.

Yes they fit over MY caliper and rotor.

 

Not to be a pain but could you post pics of the rims on the car. I want to badly order my tires but with my car in pieces I can't get a wheel on to test anything for size. I am lowering my car and I am concerned with clearance, both height and calipers.
Your time is really appreciated.

 

I can get some more pictures. Tomorrow I am mounting the tires. I had to do some grinding on the calipers and take them down to what I wanted. Its tight but I have clearance everywhere. With a lowered car you won't have to worry about rim clearing caliper anymore than a normal car. What you will have to worry about is tire clearing fender. Tomorrow when i fit the tires on I will take pictures!

P.S. I painted my calipers black to prevent rust.

Here's a link to the tires. They are 25.4" tall.

 

Your in luck my friend. I have a 26" measurement from ground to fender.
25.4" gives you a half inch.....( oh that one would be tooooo easy )

 

Hey PAT congrats on the tires. And being the first SS/SC owner as far as I know to grind the calipers to fit 15s.

Goodluck with them, practice on the street somewhere if you can, just to get use to them.

Okay now how about a picture of them on your car as well as the grinding job you did on the calipers. Sorry to be a pain, I am just trying to get a visual because this really interests me and sounds like if all went well for you that I can now buy some rims and order my tires

 

Haha, no problem, tomorrow I will put them on even if I dont go to the track and take some pictures. Its hard to see how much I ground on the calipers because I painted them black to prevent rusting. But I can take some pictures of it will help you out. The next step for me is to go to a 23" slick that will fit on this rim. Then I am buying wheel spacers to run a wider rim and going with an even wider true slick.

I did take the car out yesterday with the tires on. Without heating them up it got a small amount of spin in first and no chirp into second. Just pure grip. when I stopped you could feel how sticky the tires got just from the heat of driving. I can't wait to see how they react after burning out in a water box.

 

Okay now your driving me crazy and my wife says it's a really short drive . I am interested in getting the biggest amount of rubber to the road for the power my car will make and I am going to have driveshafts that will hold up to 750hp to the wheels so there is no worry about too sticky of a tire. I am thinking why don't you just buy the wider rim, spacers and tires tomorrow then I won't have to buy two sets. Please

These guys have been great!!! I talked to John FIVE times on Wednesday experimenting with different launch RPMs, different air pressure, just trying all kinds of things. I still have a lot to learn and M&H has been a great help. I highly suggest emailing them or contacting them someway if you are serious about running their tire.

I love the tires I have right now and I can't wait to get them broken in some more! I highly recommend M&H, they have great products and the BEST customer service for any product I have EVER bought!

I missed this post. Thus far my best time with these tires is a 13.32@105 with a 2.08 60'. I know my 60' isn't as great as some ppl but I think it mostly reflects my driving skills. I still need to work my torque management for my launches. I went to a 5 second heat cycle and burnout in the water box and it helped a lot with the consistency of launches.

My next set of tires will definitely be slicks. I am going to run the 6.5 inch wide ones so I can use the same rim.

I will continue to use M&H tires. There customer service has been the best. I am definitely impressed with both John and Michael. They have been nothing but helpful. And the tires are priced cheap!!!
