Expensive engine to maintain. Makes quite a bit more power with just a tune + exhaust + intake. Course, you'll want to replace the stock DV valves too. You'd have better luck finding a 2000-2002 S4. If you're going to go the Audi route, I would go with the S4 with the 4.2L V8. The B5 (2.7T) Audi's had the motor too far forward and high up in engine bay and caused a tendency to under-steer despite the AWD system. The B6 (4.2L) makes more power stock, and the motor was moved further back towards the firewall and lower down.

I was also told that S4's aren't cheap to maintain for the fact that the stock turbos give out around 80k and to change them you need drop the engine which costs alot in labor

thanks for the tips. The dealer is offering a three year warranty. The things i've heard go bad aren't as bad as expected. The big one is the timing belt. Everything else is not too bad. The car if purchased will be paid off quickly as i don't want a car payment. Insurance is also seven hundred a year cheaper than my car. Also its a four door and i miss my grand prix for this reason. Please keep the comments coming.

The water pump will also fail if it hasn't already. There's a Ko4 turbo upgrade if you ever wanted to make 400+ hp.

i've seen that. Looks fun and not expensive. When i get home i will post the website with the car on it. I just like how the car looks. And the luxury. Not really the speed.

This is the car. The price has been negotiated.

It's not a bad price, considering when it was new it was $40+ grand car. I've spent a good amount of time driving a similar A6. Have you taken a test drive yet?

No, not yet. Will be doing that Friday. Im going with Matt who is 2001A6 on here. When I get it, I do plan on doing the BBS wheels and the ECU flash. But that is probably it until its paid off. The k04 swap will then come.

Eh, thats your own opinion. And again, with a tune, i'd like to run you from a dig. Id actually enjoy running from a dig stock. These cars are just like cobalts when it comes to simple mods. k04 upgrade = 400hp.

Thank you. 14.7 stock quarter mile times. And this is in a very heavy car. Nothing a little more boost couldn't help.

I still think you're better off with a B5 S4 (same motor, smaller car).

My fav S4 video:

S4 > A6 > A4

The S4 has the features of the A6 in the smaller car, and it can really hold it's own in the curves. The A6 is the more practical grocery getter with some decent go power, and the A4 is basically a nicer looking VW Golf.

I know nothing about Audi's but it is a sweet looking car. I like it ( the S6) better than the A4. It is ok to have some room in your car. The AWD is cool. What do these get for gas mileage? ( retarded ? maybe, but should consider it nowadays) I like the luxury look.

LOL, a golf has no relations to the A4. that is the passat. The A6 is about 350lbs more than the S4, but more room to work, less chance of being beat to ****, better interior, "baller" status, lol, and since it has the same suspension system(I mean exactly the same), with stiffer springs, it will handle just as well! Plus, there are about 6 people around here with modded B5 S4s, only 1 modded C5 A6 2.7T, and he is curently in Chicago for school. Mines far from stock, but its a 2.8, so no boost for me...
And if you drive nice, you will probably find Audi is conservative on mpg ratings. My pig will get 29 on a highway trip!

A guy in the northeast has a K04 A6 tip. ran a 13.3! Pigs can fly!!!
