need somewhere to sit and mingle with food.. if its nice it can be an outdoors thing or whatever.

 

my gf works at the Tilted kilt in vernon hills. Its in a strip mall so theres a huge lot. they take reservations.

If you guys have never been, the girls wear very little clothing lol, we could get some decent pics with the cars? could be cool. vernon is a hike for me but its not too bad.

Ive hosted a meet at the planetarium downtown once too. that was sick. we got some ridiculous pics of all the cars lined up with the whole skyline in the background. we made a party reservation at a pizza place later on, did a cruise through the loop with 30 modded whips. what do you guys think?

 

I'll just go ahead and veto Tilted Kilt right now. Girls in the group don't want to deal with that sorta atmosphere, not to mention some guys bring their kids on occasion. No one is going to have their car cleaned up and wanting pictures in winter anyways...

We're trying to get out of being downtown. People just aren't coming anymore, hence wanting to move to a suburb.

 

word. my n00bness will show here but is there a way to make a poll on this thread? thats an easy way to pick a suburb. then we can do a poll on the specific location? it doesnt matter to me ill trek it out anywhere within reason.

atleast tilted kilt has pretty good food and service despite how the girls look. its just a typical hooters and what not but with good food.

but yeah like whiteney said we need to get a few meetings out of the city area so we can see if people show up. if they dont then maybe we will move them back. like i said people showing up once and not showing again because there wasent enough people just makes them the problem. how are we suppose to expand when people dont give it more then one shot?

planitarium is also one of the best spots there is for pics and what not. love it there but unless you have a hook up or something its usually blocked off in the evening and even with the signs moved they have security patrolling. i use to host a lot of cruses until al the cruise spots got canned pretty much.

and yea Schaumburg/ Woodfield area has tons of places with big lots. I know on Fridays VW people go to Portillos... there are lots of lots in Schaumburg lol

 

How do you guys all feel about Dave and Buster's out in Addison off 355/390? Since it's right off the freeways like that, nice and easy to get to for everyone.

 

D&B works for me. easy to get to for eveyone, lots of room, entertainment etc.

 

Only problem is that D&B is going to be too crowded on a weekend.

Or do y'all want to do D&B on a weeknight?
Or find a different place and keep the meet on a Saturday? We know of a Mongolian BBQ place down in Bolingbrook that has a back room we can reserve. Plenty of parking, since it's in a mall.

 

dave and busters is good for a week night meet... its getting cold now parking is not as important as somewhere where we can all sit down and eat and talk.... bd's Mongolian Grill
This place has a back room for larger parties... even if we cant get a big enough group for the back room they are very accomodating for groups... we need places that arent to loud, small, or unaccustomed to having groups...
also suggested was going to do activies instead of just going to a restaurant... like gokarting, bowling, anything else you guys can come up with cuz when i arranged activies like that in the past we had more people coming to those than to the actual meets... so thats another idea every month do a different activity switch back and forth....

theres a lot of good restaraunts/parking lots on roosevelt rd (il 38) and north avenue (il-64) in the lombard/glen ellyn/villa park areas on the west side of chicago. thats about all i know

 

Tilted Kilt in Vernon Hills is awesome i have lunch there every friday with some people from work.

 

D&B works for me, although it does get pretty crowded on weekends. Im pretty much up for anything as long as its not on a Tuesday or Wednesday nights lol

 

Tilted Kilt is not going to happen. So drop it. Go there on your own all you want, but we aren't going there for a meet.

Just want to say thanks to who all who came to the palace, met lots of good peeps. But i agree we.need to change it up to get some more of regular crowd. BTW I might be able to hook us up with a meet next spring/summer at the volo auto museum. If there is interest, I can hook it up.

 

Gameworks in streets of woodfield? Right of the highway, parking for days, pwning riced out vtecs all night?

 

haha that would be sick except i think they dont let ppl meet up there anymore because there was a stabbing a few years back... used to be some sick car shows there however and im more than down to try that place out

 

yea streets is pretty dry now, not a lot of meets. more a place to cruise by and see whats going on. once ur drive around once or twice some honda will eventually follow you out lol

 

you can meet at the streets.... you just cant stand by your cars. thats what i was told by both the police and security but that was a couple years ago but like a year or 2 after the stabbing.

Melrose Park Indoor Grand Prix this place is nice they have specials monday thru wed if we wanna do a week day meet.... theres also lots of other places/things we can go do.........
