Lookie what I bought! :)

This will be my first bike ever. Im 20, incase anyone was wondering, and I got it so early in the season because I want to learn all I can about these before I hit the streets. Its a 2002 Yamaha YZF600R. All stock. I Plan to clean up the rear with fender eliminators and an integrated led conversion. Little things to fancy it up, but no power adders except maybe a loud muffler so people can hear me coming. My dad always told me loud saves lives

Let me know what you think

comes with the territory. Everyone is so bi-polar about crotch rockets. Still, I hate you.

Wear your gear!!! Walking away from a slip up is always cooler than riding around in shorts and a tank top. Get a nice set of perforated leather and you won't be roasting and still safest material. Better than textile.

X2 in the gear. I always wear my helmet and jacket no matter the weather man. I rather be a little warm then be dead on the side of the road

yea the bike came with frame sliders, swing arm, and the handlebar extenders... another young man owned it as his first bike, and he took all the precautions.... he gave me his helmet, and i went straight the DGY Motorsports to look at jackets, gloves, etc... Thanks guys!

there's not a huge selection of aftermarket stuff for our ride unfortunately.... once the R6 came out, ours became a dinosaur. But if you dig around on there you'll find good ideas and recommendations.... I'm arkkornkid73 on there.

as you can see, I haven't done much to mine. I have a couple things laying around that I just haven't had the time or energy to put on it yet.

The only about this bike is that it's carbureted and not FI. Paying for 4 carbs to be worked on is $$$. But it's an awesome ride: plenty of power.... and comfortable enough to ride forever, which you can't say about most sportbikes

congrats! they are alot of fun. just be safe. wear your gear at ALL TIMES. if it's too hot to wear it, it's too hot to ride. and gear also includes boots (since i was in shoes and should have had a skin graft done on my ankle, it was that deep)

Very nice! Great beginner bike. I got an 03 Honda 954rr for my toy. You will have fun, get an "armored" jacket and a nice helmet and a comfortable set of gloves, may want to look into some nice gel handlebar grips. They help a lot. Very nice bike nonetheless! Congrats. I cant wait til its nice out. Actually took mine out last sat for a quick spin haha

great bike lol i bought one at 18, not smart really, but i wasnt stupid. i agree with what the others said, wear your damn gear. dont get cheap **** either. my jacket was $525. i have a specific pair of jeans as well. bit thicker denim. i laid mine down once, and only once, wearing those jeans and a short sleeve THIN shirt. only going about 20 cuz some bitch made a left in front of me. big ford excursion. my whole right arm was brushed up. be careful and take riding classes if you can. dont just jump on it and start on the road. parking lots work wonders. sounds stupid, but trust me, it helps a whole lot. and someone else said 600 was a comfortable place to start and i totally agree. as long as youre not stupid fast on a bike, a 600 could last you your entire life. its got more than enough pick up than you need, but not so much as to where it gets old. plus those yamahas are nice. they last forever. also, change the oil before you even first start it in the spring. along with a fresh filter. shouldn't let the oil sit for more than a month in colder weather. up here in buffalo new york i drain ALL the fluids out of my bike for the winter and then just fill them back up in the spring. even the gas i dont let sit. good luck, safe travels, and have fun.

im not even going to lie, it isnt fun to ride... well it is, but its damn scary

...and i wont lie again, i ride it all the time in flip flops, t shirt and shorts

im not big on the gear other than a helmet, skin heals, your head doesnt
