How long does the event usually last? How many runs do you get? I would definatly be up for this. Hopefully I'll have the car back by the 22nd.

You cant! your car is yellow! hahahah jk!

It really depends on the venue.

The "event" lasts pretty much until late afternoon/sometimes dusk, racing typically begins mid/late morning. How many runs you get depends on the venue too. Like the Adventureland event is very popular due to the length/speed of the course and usually you get 2 runs in. Besides all the cars there, the longer course takes people a lot longer to get through it. At the smaller courses, you can often see 3-4. Thats all subject to nobody wiping out (which DOES happen in various levels of severity from time to time.. so be advised!), breaking and whatever else can happen.

Also plan on volunteering when your group isn't running, its just good taste and expecting. Also nice to have someone to talk to at your corner :) Bring a good hat heh.

SmokinSamSC06 03-09-2009 07:59 PM

nope my car is to beautifull to be raced! hahahaha

Gimpster 03-09-2009 08:00 PM

I'm not sure if I'm down with March 22 or not. I got my ass froze off last year doing an early event. Besides being cold the wind was going about 30 mph all day.

We'll see.

I also need to get my MR2 on the dyno and tuned as I put a MegaSquirt on it this year.

evoNbetter 03-09-2009 08:07 PM

so do u have to register for every event, and pay also ?

Gimpster 03-09-2009 09:33 PM

Correct, to both.

evoNbetter 03-09-2009 10:17 PM

ok thanks

ionREDLINEracer 03-09-2009 10:17 PM

You can also register and become a member of the SCCA. If you do that, you pay a little less for each event.

evoNbetter 03-09-2009 10:23 PM

well when i registered the options were scca member or non scca member, what should have i picked

light'bolt 03-10-2009 09:44 AM

Unless you paid the 75 dollar membership fee for the SCCA then I'd put non-member.

light'bolt 03-12-2009 09:08 AM

Who here believes the weather man when he said this will be the last of the cold weather?

SmokinSamSC06 03-12-2009 09:24 AM

I've been trying to convince the wife to get rid of the wing for years. She won't do it yet, plus nobody to swap with either.

SmokinSamSC06 03-12-2009 10:27 AM

light'bolt 03-12-2009 11:58 AM

I bet at the CED meet in April there will be a few guys who'd wouldn't mind a trunk swap.
