I have read all the posts on this meet, Scythe-Snake and I were curious when exactly we are all going to meet like Friday or Saturday April 4th or 5th, and where the meeting point will be set up at. I have heard of CED, and Dyno facilities, and Barbqs south of chicago, but there alot of hotels in the schaumburg area which is almost the center of everything. CED is close by and there are Dyno stations and alot of forest preserves in the area as well. Just posting ideas for the event.

Yeah I JUST found this thread, otherwise I'd been much more involved than this!

So far, what I've heard is this will be the first weekend of April (Friday-Sunday).

And there will be shirts. (I like rally's idea, i would buy like 2-3 of those shirts. Offer hoodies and hat options as well, I'd pay extra for that. And every shirt should have the person's cobaltss.net name on it with their real name in parenthesis).

And there will be a **** load more people showing up than on the list, think about that.

And so far its:

Friday = Drive to Chicago and meet up @ a certain hotel @ a certain time

Saturday = CED meet, barbeque, poker runs to various places, hotel parties

Sunday = Dyno, track, drive home

And YAY for tax returns. Lemme know if this is all correct and stuff. I am UBER excited for this.

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

just got off the phone with Tom from CED and let me tell you... I'M ******* STOKED! i apologize in advance about keeping everyone in the dark, the reason why this has taken longer than normal to hammer out is because Tom has been in contact with GMPP and they want to attend this as well. just to let you all know... the weekend of the 4th-6th (first weekend) in april will work for Tom, but we don't know about GM yet.

GM wants to bring down the performance rig (usually has a couple show/performance cars in there too), engineers as well so they are on hand for people to talk to and there has been mention of products that aren't yet available for display.

needless to say, if this happens (and it will damnit!) saturday's plans will be changed. this will not be a 2-3 hour get together at CED, this will be an all day event, starting at 8am and going till like 5-6 (which is fine with me cuz i'll probably be buying stuff to put in my car that day from CED ). now don't fret, this still puts us good for our BBQ that we have planned. poker runs/cruising we can do on friday as well.

i'll keep ya updated.

NHCOBALT - you said you could give other hotel info, stuff more centralized? Tom gave me 4 hotels but they are more or less around CED. I don't think anyone has a problem with driving, thats half the fun of these things whereabouts would be nice, i am familiar with the chicagoland area, i do have an IPASS (and boy did that **** tuna off.. hahahah)

I am just curious on what everyones limit to hotels are, because there is a;ot of nice hotels in my area, like the renisance ,and the marriot, which are on the higher side of the dollar. But however there is a holiday inn, country inn and suites, courtyard in the area as well. Just some input for everyone to discuss.

well the place i stayed at when we had a meet in kc was the quality inn... im pretty sure people are going to want the dollar to stay in that type of range.

especially for the long haullers that are comin from 5+ hrs out

i know when area47 booked a block for the august meet, he got a rate of 60ish a night. thats basically what i was looking for. i really didn't expect any of the chicagoland people to be hotellin it with us (although that would be awesome) so i was plannin on looking for something similiar for all of us driving
