Cruise Info
VictorySS and myself have been debating on possible cruise routes for a few weeks now. VictorySS sent me a route to review and it seems like the best of many options.... we have been trying to get together to test drive the route... maybe next weekend!
I can tell everyone this...
A. there WILL be a printed map for all to follow
B. there WILL be some nice 2 lane sections that could be fun!!
C. the mid point WILL be at a park along the water on Lake Michigan
D. there WILL be a short Interstate stint on the way back to CED (unless we deem the road construction will be a PITA after we test the route)
E. we WILL try to find at least 1 meetup point along the route (in each direction) for those who get caught at lights or in traffic.
should be roughly 20-25 miles in each direction....
we are hoping for one of the most well organized CSS cruises here in Chicago area to date!!!
NOTE: this will be the Saturday Cruise.....NOT the downtown Chicago cruise.... VictorySS and myself don't know enough about downtown traffic patterns to do that...if anybody else wants to handle that cruise...have at it

For a "dark knight" cruise, it may be helpful to post the locations of what you want to see, ie. the bank. then with multiple locations known a cruise could be planned. Members that known the downtown area if you could help that would be awesome...rallyracer and I know very little on how to drive around down there...

idk if anyone would be interested, but there is a small airport that does flight lessons in grayslake, maybe they would let us rent it for a small fee if its reasonable and everyone can pitch in, and then we could just have drag races, auto-x, whatev, basically a large open strip of asphalt to do whatever the hell we want with.
Just an idea, if there is any free time in the schedule beetween cruises, it might be pretty fun

I live in Grayslake/Gurnee are & drive by Rochenbach every day. I also bought my 'Balt there in Feb '06. There are a few road with some pot holes, but all in all it's not that bad. It'll be fun to meet some new people & pick their brains. I should be one of the seniors (age 39) attending. I just go my CAI in this weekend & love the sound. Hopefully I can get a few other things done by the big weekend. I'd like to do a stage 2 also, but I'll see if I can scratch up the cash. I just get the 'Balt foxed from a accident but the paitn job needs to be redone.
Look forward to seeing you all in a few weeks.

I already did.
Im going to watch the movie tonight again and make a list of all the best locations.
Here is a List of a lot of the locations of where everything was filmed.
I will try to make a route that is easiest so everyone can stay together.
But just in case. Bring a GPS.
