Lol, sounds like a storm of pretty epic proportion. This from the NWS (National Weather Service, for you weather noobs):
"HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE... IT HAS BEEN ABOUT 10 YEARS SINCE SNOWS AND WINDS OF THIS MAGNITUDE AND EXPANSE HAVE BEEN SEEN ACROSS THE AREA. STORM STRENGTH IS ANOTHER MATTER. IT HAS PROBABLY BEEN 20 TO 30 YEARS SINCE THE IMPACTS OF A WINTER STORM OF THIS STRENGTH HAVE BEEN SEEN IN THE AREA."
Sounds like it will be fun. What do you all have planned over the next few days? Rather... what plans will be ruined by this storm? Lol. I'm free 'til tomorrow night, so it better get outta here before then, otherwise I will miss my finals!

Where are you at, mkriebs? In Peoria we're supposed to get 3-5" on top of accumulating sleet. Which means that the entire town will be shut down tomorrow for some reason.

I am in outside of sterling a bit, about 45 min from the Quad city area. We are looking at 8"-10" now according to the local news station.
And, screw winter tires! I got the winter car out! Lol. Nothing beats a beater your not afraid to take to a ditch, haha.

Yeah... I wish I never got rid of my truck. But, dad's Jeep will do
He has a new Rubicon... sadly with the crappy V6. And he traded an old Scrambler in for it, that had a 3" lift, and a built I6, and a bunch of other good ****.

Go through an undercarriage rinse about once a month and you'll be fine.

I about got rear ended by a truck with a bobcat on a trailer. At the same time I about got hit head on by a truck blowing the stop sign coming toward me dong 30-40 mph.
