New kid on the block, thought i would say hello to all the fellow chicagoans. One question though, which shops do you guys go to, to get your work done?

better save for some tools first, much cheaper to do everything yourself, unless you absolutely have no clue, most things are easy...

seriously? all bolt-on? i dunno im still looking at all the parts avaliable. i mean is the car that easily accessable from underneath to take off pullies and such?

everything is from up top in the engine bay unless your doing transmission work, at least so far for me it had been...only gonna completely pull the motor when i do the rebuild

for me yeah it's been bolt ons. getting a turbo setup together but thats a whole nother animal. i borrow my father in laws tools. he's got everything you could need. and i would be more then happy to help, anytime.

lol y is the oil so hard.... im 18 and it was a piece of cake, took 15 mins including the time to drain the oil.... i do all my own work, exceept tint and part of my exhaust b/c i suck at welking

eh you know when you live at home with your parents still, they dont understand the concept of hooking/ fixing up your ride. The only concept they catch behind this hobby is that your wasting money and i dont want to hear it lol

parents.....wife.......upgrades.......money......i ts all the same. my wife hates it but trys to understand. my in laws are absolutely clueless, so i down play what i am up to when i borrow tools. the only pesrson that really likes my car and the work i'm doing is my mother, go figure.

mmy gf is getting into it... her mom just got an 06 eclipse GT..... yesterday my gf got an identical one but the 4 cyl.... thats a keeper. both r black like my car

luckily my boyfriend's dad was a mechanic, their garage has anything and everything, so just liftin it up and working has been a piece of cake, and luckily his brother is a welder....so I got lucky on that end there is a shop on the south side off of archer that does good work, and P and L motorsports, for those that went to HIN (which im not countin many but still) im sure ya saw their amazing cars
