Deery me, I nailed a buck.

2 deer in one month. Unlike last timehttps://www.cobaltss.net/forums/mid-...er-you-230768/, I was driving the 2.4 liters of fury called the Ion. The Mazda walked away without a scratch. The Saturn is epically destroyed. I'll get pictures in the AM. I lost my hood, headlight, fender, wheel, windshield (partially), bumper, grill, and fender liner. All on the right side. It also bent the metal around those areas. My wheel shakes now, it veers to the right, and the brakes are jolting. The check engine light also came on. I was too shaky to walk back a few yards and hunt down the deer, but I filed the report via telephone and did a damage survey for them. I also am pretty sure the car is mechanically a mess. In the split second I had tor eact, I jammed my foot into the clutch pedal at a weird angle which now feels weird when pressed, I had my hand on the shifter which was jammed from 4th to 3rd in the pandemonium. I figure that really did wonders for the transmission and or clutch (which is slipping a little already). Haha. What a night.

Kirk, if you read this, I'm catching up in animal kills. Slowly but surely.

I would say I'd have them in 6 or so hours, but with the time change, I'm taking that extra hour of sleep. I could sure use it after tonight.

You should mount the antlers on your fixed/next car, as a warning to all deer

I'll head outside here in a couple to snap some photos. I swear there are at least 3 deer hits on that county line each night. One of the other guys on here has hit everything in his truck and SS Turbo. I'm sure he's not complaining now though seeing as he got a ZZP FMIC and HIDs out of it.

I'll pay off the loan if I can. One less payment sounds nice.

Thats not that bad. Your windshield looks fine and the wheel is from a curb not a deer. New headlight, fender, door skin and hood and its back to normal

I've only curbed the other side. Might have been rocks, but there was hair in the gap between the wheel and tires.

A deer is not going to do that to a rim, let alone take a chunk out of the tire.

Its epic to me. The car's value sets at 5500 already and the damage is around 4k. it caused a crapton of mechanical issues as well. My hope is they just total it and let me pay it off. It'd much less hassle. Then I'll just buy it back at auction and make it a track car.

Parts are FAR from cheap. They are more expensive than the Cobalt parts because they are harder to make and take a different base coat to make paint stick. When I was backed into last year, my rear bumper was 1300 replaced. The insurance adjuster is on his way out to check it out.

Hahaha. It was a big 12-pointer. I wish I'd have gotten pictures, but ODOT is quick about cleaning that stuff up. It was gone hours later.

They aren't cheap at all. Parts cost a lot more for the Saturns. The door skin is gone as is the metal frame inside.

Its totaled. They are going to write me a check. She asked on the phone where the damage was and what needed replacing. I told her and she said they have to send a guy to look at it for pricing purposes but its a goner. Yay.

Josh, I don't think it was ODOT that picked up your buck. If it were a 12point, someone picked it up and cut the head off to get the horns. Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Wish you had pics of the deer.
