Just had a friend text me to tell me some stuff about recent parts released by GM Performance.

The good news:
The upgraded clutch for the SS/SC offerd through GM Performance is not only cheap, but holds power without slipping. This guy ran 13's in Salt Lake at RMR on slicks. Fastest time so far for and LSJ up there.

The bad news:
The upgraded axles through GM Performance are ****. He managed to snap the shafts into 3 pieces without snapping the CV joints. GM, try again. Btw, his setup is not much different from mine. This guy knows what he's doing too. He's as old as Joe and is a very experienced diesel mechanic that spends his spare time building a race car for himself.

 

Well GM is pissing in my cornflakes right now. The code I keep throwing in my car for the pedal position sensor AB switch is retarded. I took it to Bay to get it diagnosed and they said I need a new throttle body. GM took it out of there powertrain warranty a week ago and Bay wants to charge me $470 to fix it. How fucked up is this. I'm really through with GM after this car. They officially suck to me.

Not to mention when I was sitting at a red light the damn plastic around the switch for the sunroof just fell off. I mean it jjst fell on the floor. I'm like wtf? Is this pos just falling apart? GM is really pissing on my back and telling me its raining!!

 

yeah im think of getting it is i have an exdey oem replacement 300 buck an i have only 50k and its about gone!

 

How funny. I just might be a position to help out, if you can help me. Since the Cobalt is staying a little longer I bought the OTTP 3" intake and LS4 TB spacer. If you can pay for Joe to tune my car on sunday I will not only give you the OEM TB off my car, but install it too.

Also, I looked around for pricing a TB for your car. I only came up with GM Parts Direct. They want $78.18 for the TB, plus $16.42 shipping, which came to a total of $94.60. GM part number is 12565553.

Got creative today and took a couple minutes to fab these up, 3' aluminum flat stock, JB Weld + zip-ties (gee-haw!), and a little tools and time.

Fresh coat of paint to come once JB cures-

lol my old 2-4 did the same thing.. sunroof buttom cover just fell down randomly.... GM sucks time and time again.... the new cars have no quality put into them....

Deployment will be the answer to my problem... its time for me to finally go and experience this.. and earn some extra money... but my present when i get back will be...

In my defense this was my first time ever using JB Weld , and honestly the zip-ties would have done the job alone and I see most do that. Had I know you had aluminum capabilities I for sure would have hit you up though. It'll work and you'll never see it .

Nice work. You might want to consider a way to secure forward and backward movement of the intercooler. Zip ties can weather and break over time. Bwoody Performance used to have intercooler brackets on their site. I can't find them, but you can look at my car if you want any ideas.

 

$10 investment to mount it, sure it'll hold, and by the time it fails I'm positive I'd moved on or it'd be upgraded. Most likely moved on.

I love my fourth generation Cavalier after owning 5 third gens, ha, it's time, but for now it's econimical and fun. The anti-balt discussion is clicking!

BTW Warren, if you know anyone worth much @ a Chevy dealer see about getting such "good-willed" being your not too far out of warranty. Had an Ecotec rebuilt in my 2002 LS Sport sedan this way.

 

GM does suck.... yah i condtradict myself... but all my other choices are a lil out there.... at least with ford i could get good discounts with my dad and stepmom... hence why i looked at a mustang GT... i just think it'd be cool to have a true collector car... the new camaro just doesnt really catch my eye... it doesnt wow me anymore... there all too common.... pay 30-40 grand for a new camaro??? orrr 20 for a collector camaro that looks damn good........ i dont see the new camaro with a T-top yet?? and no im not waiting for the convertible... dont want one.... i do0nt see myself being stationed in japan anytime soon to own a skyline or S15 and there too rare here.... and im sure eveyone would make fun of me for owning a delorean... NOT the back to the future one.... either way... my car. my money.. my deployment.. opinions always welcome. but i came into the car buying world very naive.. and still kinda am... the turbo balt was unnecessary on my part.. my 2-4 woulda been paid off already... and the modding woulda been easier... lol now that i think about it.. i miss that car hahaha
