Buddy and I have a batch of nut brown 1 wk in, yesterday did a batch of hefeweizen. Hopefully they turn out alright, this is our first adventure doing the brewing. Made sure to sanitize everything as I figured thats the only way to **** it up.
Yeah sanitizing everything well is a big factor. That and i recommend putting it somewhere dark so that no sun gets to it. UV rays **** beer up something fierce and can make it skunky (Heineken, Becks, Corona) I actually use a brown paper bag and pop it over the carboy while its fermenting does the job good. We should meet up one day and swap beers and knowledge.
