Alberta = no front plate! Its one of the things I honestly feel sorry for the folks who have to have them.

Guys,

Be careful how you have your tags displayed. In VA, a tag displayed other then in the appropriate license plate holder is considered by VA state law as improperly fastened or obscured. Not sure about you guys, but I would much rather have my front tag on the bumper rather then bounceing around eye level when some driver runs into me at 50 mph. (In Northern VA, It's only a matter of time.)

For the guys with out of state tags, be advised that if you have established residence in the great commonwealth of VA (meaning your car is garaged in the state for anywhere from 7days to 60 days, depending on which county you are in) you are subject to registration and local property tax fees. In other words, the non moving violation summons for Failure to update Informtation with DMV W/in 30 days(VA Code) if not taken care of could lead to the supension of your privlage to drive in VA, and VA DMV contacting your home state to suspend your license and your regisration, until fines are paid and the taxes etc... are taken care of. (Driving on Suspended is a class 1 Misd, up to 1 year in jail, $2500.00 fine). VA DMV is real good about letting other states know you are not playing by their rules.

Front tags are an eyesore, agreed, however they do serve a purpuse for identifaction, and I highly doubt that the Commonwealth will change it's ways. VA likes it's money way too much....and even if they did eliminate the front tag, about 7 more code sections come to mind in reference to the rear tag alone that you can get pulled over for.

A Better petition would be to get rid of smooth opperator....

Drive safe.
