I would want one in an orange color. I was told that the sunburst orange would be a very hard color to match with powder coating but id take something close to a burnt orange.

If you go to the Modern Performance Website and look under 2.0 engines they have their new color Powder Coated VCs pictured. They also dropped the price to $169 - for a new GM VC plus powder coating that ain't bad!

Here are the photos as promised !
These valve covers look great, and because they are powdercoated, they are durable, and long lasting! These finishes wont fade, or easily chip.

We start with a brand new valve cover with gaskets from GM, then we powdercoat them and bake them at high temperatures to seal the paint in, making it very durable.

Pricing on these is $169.99, NO core needed. Just buy, and install for a great looking engine bay !!

If youd like to get one for your 2.0 SS, call Modern Performance ! Toll free 1-877-247-6366

I purchased a red 2.2 VC from Modern Performance and the coating is VERY smooth and glossy. But I paid $199 and had to buy a gasket....GRRRRRR! Lucky 2.0 owners

I would possibly want black. Is there any possibility that you could have them polished Modern?

EDIT

Hey modern, I was just looking around and found this on ebay. I was just wondering If you would be able to produce something with this kind of finish.

Modern Performance is powder coating a red 2.4 VC for me now.

Call Cory at Modern Performance -- I'm sure he'll provide you with one of any color that's available.

Mod Perf doesn't stock them, so when I ordered my 2.4L VC it was a one-time deal -- and I'm a repeat customer of theirs.

Call them to get your quote -- if enough interest and real buyers want them maybe they can charge the same as the 2.0 S/C valve covers listed on their site.

We have ordered a 2.4 valvecover from GM for CobalterLS, and we could easily powdercoat one for you at the same time if your interested.

We have never done a white one, it would be hard to keep clean, id strongly recommend the black instead.

Please give me a call, id be happy to help you with this, and your timing is perfect !

I had a coil cover for a Quad 4 engine powdercoated white once and was never happy with it... It did seem to be impossible to keep clean!

Yes, you can paint the VC and it will look good for a time before it fades or loses some color.
My experience with powder coating has been that YEARS later it still shines nicely. The color coat is a lot thicker and tougher than paint too -- it resists cleaners and solvents better.
I also like it that Mod Perf acquires a new GM VC to powder coat -- so the cost, when you take that into consideration, is not too high.

...and you'll still have your original one to put back on the car before you trade it in or sell it. Leaves you with your powdercoated one to make a few bucks back on.
