2 pass intercooler end plate "newbie"

Hey guys I just got this car and I'm not very familiar with them yet. I found out by looking through a stack of old receipts he gave me that an owner before him did this bypass. I was driving it home and low coolant light came on didn't over heat but when I got home the reservoir on drivers side was empty. After reading up on this bypass the reservoir on the passenger side is added when you do this right? Because I filled up the one on drivers side because that's the one that was low. Took it out for a drive the light came back on and it was empty again? Like I said not familiar with dual reservoirs. Noticed small leak by water pump is this the systems way of bleeding because of the leak and it just got sucked down because it was so low?

There are two independent cooling systems. Sounds like the leak is the engine coolant from the water pump or crossover pipe in the rear of the engine

I just don't know where all that coolant would be going so quickly? I didn't see a leak on the ground. Unless it was just pissing out under boost?

If the WP is leaking it could leak inside the timing cover and mix with engine oil

I checked the oil to make sure it wasn't a head gasket and it didn't look milky at all.unless it was just so lower sucked all that coolant down and I just needed to add more. Either way I gotta do a water pump and I heard they suck

Not too bad. They make a special tool to avoid having to retime the engine. I think it was only $25 for the tool. Sold at most parts stores

140k. Gm performance exhaust, k&n typhoon intake, wheel hop kit, other odds and ends. The guy didn't seem to know much about it he said it was his buddy's and he's the one who built it. Found dyno sheets and drag slips with the receipts

Find the source of the leak, it's possible it could be something other than the water pump. Even if it is, it's not a bad job to do.

Bump. This was a blown head gasket. Was leaking externally. Sold the car.
