Just recently bought my 09 cobalt ss. Its currently stock but I'm looking to change that, I didnt want to buy one already built. It's a learning experience for me and I figured what better way to learn than to do it on my own. I am located in Maryland, originally my cobalt is from Georgia but I drove 3 hours to PA to pick it up. I've wanted a cobalt ss since I was in high school and I was finally able to get my hands on one. I'm here hopefully to help me learn because lord knows I have a lot to learn lol.

 

Welcome, there is a lot of good info on here to browse and still plenty of people to give advice on modding. You have any big goals set yet?

Hope I'm replying correctly hahah but thanks! For the moment I'm working on getting coilovers, the windows re tinted and I'd like to get a Hahn intercooler. I'd also like to get it painted but as far as building it I have no plans yet. I have a lot to learn to see what I should start with for the build.

 

Thanks!! Somehow I manage to always buy black vehicles lol I'm looking into getting it painted, the paints fucked up in a couple places. Just not sure if I want to keep it black or do something else.

 

Most will tell you to keep it black, including myself. A full car repaint of a different colour costs a few G's unless you attempted to do the work yourself.

I got tired of the gray-scale monotonous tones so I went yellow this time. Much easier to find in a parking lot.

 

Oh yeah I've priced it at a few places, it would be a tax time job hahah the other colors I'm considering are like pearl white or candy red or maybe matte black? Lol idk it's just a thought I'm throwing around for down the road.

I agree black looks good when its nice and clean but its so much work to keep it that way
