Hi guys. A month ago I bought a 2009 cobalt ss/tc I bought the car for 8997 from a dealership near Chicago. Only 6 hours after leaving the lot the car is overheating and mounds of white smoke out the tail pipe. Brought car in and the block is cracked. The dealership tried saying it was my fault and said they will only cover half the cost. Well after 3 weeks I finally got a call confirming what I assumed a cracked block. So for 6000 dollars they are putting in a new motor. They finally got back to me and said that it would be done by Thursday. I bought the car over a month ago and have hardly drove it I can't wait to get back into it. First manual car I've owned and only other car I've own. Went to this from my very reliable 03 cavalier with 210k miles.

Sorry to hear but they probably knew it was using coolant, 09's are known for it. personally I would have refused to pay for repair and threatened to return it if they didn't fix it.
