Hello everyone. My name's Nate, I'm 23, from Indiana, and this is my Cobalt. It's a 2009 LS XFE sedan, and it has 36000 miles on it. I bought it from a dealership about 45 mins from my house. Test drove it once and the 150 hp produced by the dohc ecotec was put to the ground much better than the 150hp single cammer 2.2 non eco in a sunfire I once had. Felt good, electric power steering is a new thing for me tho. Transmission and clutch were good, asking price was 7000$.

I bought it two Fridays Ag and should be getting my title any day. I'm transferring my truck plate to my name and it'd be legal to drive with I but ik the cops would pull me over if they saw a cobalt with truck plate. Lol and the dealer hasn't asked for this one back yet.

a little more about me. I used to race oval karts and micro sprints for 4 years and I went to auto tech vocational thru my high school. But I don't claim to be a good DIY guy :P I'm gonna try and do as much work to this myself as possible. I need to get more tools than what I have now.

I go to alot of races with my dad hours away plus he lives an hour from me and I enjoy the pavement twisties so that's why I'm going for a sport touring build. Future plans include:

Dynomat floors and trunk (road noise, could be the shi%&$ tires to)
Ksport or KW coilovers with adjustable rebound
AIT Zen body kit
ZZP rear and Eibach front sway bars
I'd like some custom engine and tranny mounts from ZZP to help with torque steer but they all appear to be for the SS
17" wheels (split 7 or split 10 spoke)
SSBC 12" front and rear disc brakes (keep it 4 lug, SS axles seems like alot of work for tiny stock gm brakes)
FLOORMATS!!!!!
add more black and some hugger orange to the inferior
clean up engine bay, remove that retarded plastic cover over the valve cover/head
possibly a muffler and short ram intake if I can get away with not reflashing the ecm but not harm my internals.
would really like the aftermarket balancer for crank flex cuz it does not vibe but hum if you shift At lower rpms, and I'm not talkin so low you bog it like shifting low for economy. But don't wanna pull the engine and replace a case.

now for the dreaming.
LNF mated to f40 cuz a 6 sp would be so perfect for this build
just a 300tq 300hp setup would make me happy and ik the LAP rods cant handle more than 5lbs of boost plus the pistons aren't setup for a turbo so my stock motor is out of the question which is why this is just dreaming lol

Thanks for reading!!!!

Thank you, so clean on the inside. Ironically that'll prolly be the first place I start modding.

Welcome.... You have the same car as I do but yours is a sedan and you are not far away... if you owned it clean and clear Id want to trade!

Mods are fun and easy for this car. You can also wake it up quite easy with the LSJ front end swap. cost you about 900-1200 if you piece it together yourself. Thats strictly performance but worth every penny!
