Miata SS

Hi Everyone, I have a 2002 Miata that I stuffed a LE5 into along with a big wheel upgraded K04 turbo. It's a hoot, but there isn't much knowledge in the Miata community about tuning these engines. I'm running megasquirt to make things even more challenging. I'm here to learn from you all. Thanks!

It's too bad they didn't build them this way from the factory.

The torque is glorious. GM engines are as good as it gets in terms of reliable power per dollar, and the Miata is the best chassis for the price. LS is obviously the go to, and the LFX is gaining some swap popularity, but I personally think this combo is pretty ideal. It's light, the engines are ~$600, lightweight, and can make decent power with loads of torque.
I'm also running the AR5 transmission from a Solstice.

I dislike the solstice transmission. It feels like the gears are too far apart. I have been driving my LNF cobalt now everyday and the gear ratios feel much better suited to the motor. Both my cars (LNF cobalt and GXP Solstice) have the GM tune.

It does drive like a truck transmission (because it is) in it's natural form. A short shifter really improves it without any downside. The key is that it's good for 500wtq, whereas the Miata 6 speed I pulled out will die at 350. They are also cheap. I got a brand new one for $700.
