midlife special

Picked up an 06 ss/sc a couple of months ago as daily driver. Wasn't at all what i was looking for ( mid size sedan) but was very clean and price was a give away. Had bikes but never a performance car before and have been using this site to get info on it as i usually do 90% of my own mechanical work. Love the info available here!

Welcome, lets see that ride. You plan on modifying it at all for more power or mainly here for maintenance and troubleshooting?

Currently just for maintainance and troubleshooting till i get everyone else's stuff out of garage and get laid off for winter. Exhaust is aftermarket and control arms don't look stock and it's been lowered, but not sure yet what other mods it may already have. Work ashpalt construction almost sun up to sun down and any car time I've had has been going to my kuds cars and the back up. Poor baby needs a good bath before i post a pic

Man am I STUPID!!!!

Had the broken roll pin experience on my way home from work the other night after a very long (14 hr) day. Sitting in heavy tradfic across from the airport with the sun going down, the light changed and all gears were gone. A couple of guys helped push me onto a side street. Loosened up fuse box, jammed my hand under and found were roll pin goes by feeling bent one sticking all the way out. Luckily the guy I got the car from warned me about this and had put a box full of hitch pins, cotter pins and ROLL pins in the glove box. After an hour of wiggling, cussing and arfing up the back of my hand I was on my way...for a quarter mile....seems there were two barely different sizes and the one I put in sheared off. I'm stuck in 2nd now. Pull off in a gas station and this time i can't get piece out or new one in, and gas station is lights out in half an hour. Said screw it and got a tow home. After work next day looked up proper directions for replacement and disconnected.battery and took apart fuse box. Didn't check to see if key worked for trunk. It doesn't. Thought I'd just drop seats down. Surprise, I can't since the release is in the trunk. Put fuse box back together and hooked a battery to it. No luck. Arm's a little too short to reach end of seat release cable reaching between seats. Any ideas? How does release mechanism work? Could i maybe hook it and push back with a long screwdriver or am I screwed?
