New but not... 09 ss/tc

Hello, im not exactly new here. I have been a member for roughly three years now but i dont believe i ever made a post or dont remember making a post. I have owned my cobalt for just over three years now and it currently has just over 75k miles. Its bone stock, black, and i have a few mods happening this summer. Mods are located in my signature, please comment with any suggestions or tips. My goals are to have a clean/simple dd thats reliable with close to 300 WHP. I have found alot of good info on here and with the help of this community hopefully this car will have a bright future.

and with 75k miles, would it be smart to get my engine cleaned by my mechanic or is there something simple i could do in my own garage?

Want to get rid of pin stripe and rear wing. Tips on both or links to how-to's would be appreciated.

heat gun would work great or some sort of buffing wheel to get the pin stripes off but ill tell you now, your def going to be able to see those pinstripe lines so youll have to do a full detail on it to try and hide those marks. as for the wing blade its 6 nuts and 3 on each side and then your gonna have to find a patch or something or just buy a wingless trunk

For pin stripes. Get 3M adhesive remover and spray it on then peel them off. Don't use a knife or anything sharp, take your take and heat always helps.

As for the wing, we have a wing trading thread. It's easier to swap the entire trunk with someone, then just trade out the locks.

Would goo be gone not work with the pin stripes? and what would you recommend to fill the holes?

Goo Gone will probably work, you will likely need to get a clay bar and clean the paint where the stripe was.

A body shop would be a good place to ask. Probably wouldn't cost that much to have filled and repainted.

it might work. take a heat gun or hair dryer to the stripes and dont use anything sharp either it should pull off if you can find a spot to get at. a buddy of mine ghetto rigged his holes and used some silicone and some type of patch on the inside of his. never leaked the whole time he was wingless lol

Soak them in Goo Gone.
Heat with a blow dryer.
Peel with finger nails.

Youll be done in 10 minutes.

Thanks for the help. Any other suggestions for cheap and easy exterior modifications?
