Hello css.net! I bought my 2009 Cobalt SS/TC not too long ago and have been reading a great deal of information from this site. Very good info as well as community
.
A little about me and my history:
I'm 22 years old from Porterville, CA. I've owned 6 cars in total so I've had a taste of almost everything lol.
1st car: 2001 Toyota Celica GT - Still own and love this car to this date. Can't forget about your first car right?
2nd car: 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T - Sold, but I learned so much about the mechanical aspects of cars, how to drive stick (first stick shift car) and of course how to mod
3rd car: 2003 Toyota Celica GT (action package edition) - (Sold) I enjoyed the body of it, but I realized that my need for speed was just too great
4th car: 2001 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 - (Recently sold) my first v8. I have never heard such a beautiful exhaust note that the LS1 produces and the crazy amount of power a few bolt ons produce. I definitely miss this beast
5th car: 1985 Toyota Celica GT - (Still own) Back to my celica roots, but this time changing it up to old school and RWD
. It's the slowest car I've owned, but I just love the way it handles around the mountains and the overall design of the car. I will be keeping this one for decades to come for sure
6th car: 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt SS - Own of course. My cousin used to have a 2006 black Cobalt SS/SC and I remember liking the design of it. He eventually gave it to his sister who after a few months wrecked it while falling asleep
. Needless to say, he was thrilled and sad when I told him that I bought a T/C.
I only have a few pictures that I took after the 7 hour round trip I had to make to acquire it so please excuse the dirtiness. Pictures to follow...

Thanks for the welcome sirs!
I head up to Fresno for the junkyards every once in a while. I haven't seen many members that lived close to me. I always thought they were either up in the Bay Area or SoCal lol.
Car is bone stock... for now. I've seen videos on the thread with the "muffler delete" so I'm considering that be my first mod. Knowing my tendencies to not leave a car stock, I'll probably be buying a downpipe and intake right away as well. Followed by a tune of course.
Too soon to sell the car lol so not for sale. I have been looking at the marketplace recently so I thought "might as well include my username" lol.
Yeah, the more I drive my old celica, the more I dislike the newer ones. A 1uzfe v8 swap will be in order as soon as the little 22re blows up

Personaly I would prolly try to pull off a smaller lighter motor to keep the car more nimble unless sideways is your goal
You will be impressed by how well this car takes to modifications downpipe+tune+tires=12's w/driver mod
Itl work a bolton ls1 fbody something awful alot of cam only ones in a roll too

mr. bill - Thanks for the welcome. Every time I see the name or word "bill" I always think of this:
c0de7477 - Thanks! And thanks for your service as well
. I almost bought a G35 coupe from a guy stationed there, but opted for the T/A instead.
bmartz & taz - Thank you fellas!
LNFTX - Yeah I understand what you mean, it's just that the aftermarket support for these old celicas are near non-existant
. The most most relatively easy swaps are the 7m, 2jz, or the 1uz. Sideways is my goal for now anyway, but I learned that as you age, your goals change so I'm open to other swaps.
Sounds exciting lol. Not to mention the crazy mpg the cobalt gets. I was only getting around 220 miles per 15 gallons of fuel. One of the reasons I sold the t/a in the first place
